Why is it so hard to find Charvels for sale?

Not going through eBay, it is almost impossible to find a store that has a white San Dimas as in stock.

One reason could be production halted about 9-10 months ago on the MIJ models. They should be ramping up production right now though, the new ones will be available in April.

Second reason could be maybe certain stores don't buy in Jackson and Charvel. I haven't seen one in my local guitar center in almost 2 years.

What is wrong with eBay??? As long as you use Paypal you are protected and make sure you are dealing with someone who has 100 percent feedback. I have bought a couple guitars, an amp head and 3 effect units from eBay and I have never had any trouble at all...

+1. Buy from a seller with a solid reputation, pay with PayPal and you're covered. It's no different than buying from any other online vendor, under these conditions.

Where are the new ones being made? I heard they stopped making them in Japan due to cost and will be building elsewhere. True?

Yup, Mexico. Couple of changes on the new ones, but they don't bother me though. I've seen lot's of people getting butthurt about the recessed floyds on other forums. Also the wild cards are coming back too, so who knows what else we see.

If you want that type of guitar it is hard to beat the Mexican made fender fsr Floyd equipped strat. My buddy has one and it rivals the custom shop Charvel in tone and playability and has more versatility then my Charvel with all the cool switching possibilities. Stock pickups sound great also. Hard to beat yet alone at what they sell for. There's one on classifieds here for 500 and can be found even cheaper used if patient.

IME get what you are gas'n for or you won't be happy , sure you can find a killer instrument but it won't be what you are really gas'n for and so that would leave you still gas'n
