Your live dream rig

So, you've gotten the gig of a lifetime. Madison Square Garden, Wembley Stadium, The Brass Rail, whatever.

What backline are you playing through for this once in a lifetime gig?

Oh, you don't ACTUALLY have to know how you'd set it up, I have no clue how I'd run all this shit.

Me, I'm going the Sunn O))) route of silly amount of amps and cabs.

Tele with neck P90 -> Spencer Zombie Fuzz -> ACC150 paired with Peavey 1810 & Sunn Beta Lead w/ Emperor 6x12 w/ WGS ET65 & Hiwatt DR-103 w/ Monolith 8x12 WGS 65s
and split before fuzz -> Peavey VTM gain switches on, compression on, bass switches on w/ Mesa Metal Grille 4x12

Other pedals on theoretical board: EQD Monarch, EQD Grand Orbiter, Boss BF3, SUF Civil War

So, ok, that's like only 1/4th of what Sunn O))) would use live, but thinking is getting difficult.

Mine would be my exact rig right now.

You suck. :chat:

No, seriously, your rig is awesome.

I pretty much have half of this setup already. ACC150 into a Peavey 1810. VTM120 into a Mesa Halfback 212. One of these days I'll buy an ABY pedal and you'll get a report on how I can't hear anything anymore. :D

I've always wanted to set up a two amp rig ... Of course, unless the scenario in the OP actually happens to me, that won't EVER be practical. I ain't draggin' a double-sized rig to the local craphole to bang out four hours of bar-band blues covers, lol. But to dream...

Actually, the dirty side of my rig would be very nearly what I'm running now; I just have to figure out what I'd use for a clean amp, and what additional pedals I'd want in front of it.

Guitars:

Hamer USA Mirage koa modded w/ SD Custom Custom in the bridge
Hamer USA Studio
Alvarez Yairi DY-52

Effects:

In front of dirty amp: Budda Bud-Wah-->VFE Old School tremolo-->Way Huge Green Rhino od (just ordered; haven't actually tried it yet, but expect it to replace my Bad Monkey)-->Suhr Riot-->Red Witch Moon Phaser-->Fulltone Choralflange --> amp

In front of clean amp: some kind of low-gain od (VFE Pale Horse or similar) --> some kind of chorus or flange --> some kind of analog delay --> some sort of clean boost (Banzai New Rising Sun II, for example)

In loop of dirty amp: Digitech HarmonyMan-->either MXR Carbon Copy or VFE Blueprint delay-->Hardwire Reverb-->MXR MicroAmp

Amps:

Dirty: Marshall 1987x 50 watt "Plexi" reissue, modded with master volume
Clean: :idk: I suppose I could run 100 watt NMV Plexi without winding it up & use it for its cleans ~ they are lovely. :)

Cabs:

I'd love to try a 1960AX slant cab for the Plexi ~ a pair if I ran another Plexi for cleans ~ for the Greenback speakers and the cool basketweave grillecloth. A pair of side-by-side halfstacks for my backline would be my dream set up, yo.

Other touches? Perhaps a nice, high end wireless setup for all the guitars so I could move around. A good DI for the acoustic, and perhaps a chorus pedal or some kind of simply multi-fx for the acoustic, speaking of which. That, and a single roadie in a black turtleneck, and I think I could play all of my various tunes in a sold-out arena show for the ages. :rawk:

OP ~ thanks for a nice image to drift off to sleep dreaming about tonight! :D

I'd swap the 2554 for the 2555 in my live rig. If one gets a chance to use 100 or 50 then one knows what one must do. Other than that I have the exact live rig I want. I just can't wind the 2555 up just like I couldn't run the SLP in my last band. Too damn loud.

Cabs:
Fryette Deliverance 4x12's (x2)
Splawn w/Celestion Creambacks (x2)

Guitars:

Pickups:
Duncan Custom SH5 (bridge)

Also ... I have no idea if the effects/controller I picked will even work but I like all the individual pieces

Peavey Firebass 700
Peavey Triple XXX

AMT P1 -> MXR 10 Band EQ -> Effects loop of both amps

Guitars:

Same as what I use now. They're nothing special to other people, but I love them and feel comfortable holding them.

'07 Gibson Explorer w/SD alnico 2 pros
'11 Gibson Les Paul '60s tribute w/ stock P90s
'99 Fender Mexican Strat w/Tonerider City Limits

Effects:

Basically what's on my pedalboard but the most expensive versions of everything mounted in a rack, with a midi floorboard controlling it all. Maybe a rack mount delay instead of my Nova Repeater... so let's say;

Line 6 G90 Wireless
Korg DT-1000
Boss SD-1
Smallsound/Bigsound Fuck Overdrive
Proco Rat 2
EH Ring Thing (with guitar tech to change saved presets! :hmm: )
EH Deluxe Memory Man
2x TC2290 delays

Amps;

2x AC30s in stereo just below the edge of breakup for everything from clean to overdriven
Mesa Boogie Tremoverb head + 4x12 V30 cab for wall-of-sound distortion

hmmmmm.... I'm still in the Honeymoon phase with my new amp, which is basically a 50 watt Plexi internally jumpered with a few custom tweaks from my amp tech, so possibly a 100 watt version of it on a full stack...
Image

A better playing version of this Tele, it sounds SO GOOD but I can't jive with the neck 100%. More than Likely I will be upgrading it with a Warmoth neck in the future
Image

My WIIO, Musket Fuzz and CAE/Dunlop Wah would have to be there too...

I don't really know other than saying that I'd really like to play through Dean Deleo's rig at some point. AC30, VHT poweramp and demeter preamp. I can't say whether I'd like the demeter or not. Replace that with a bogner fish perhaps. Like I said, I don't know.
