Ok, my other guitarist is buying my Fender SS22 and I was gonna use the money to buy a matching Mesa 212 for my Roadster. However, there is a blue 1991 Les Paul Studio Lite on CL that's been there for a while. I've always wanted one of these in this color. It appears to be in good shape.

Now, I do have my Orange cab and it sounds great with the Roadster so I am very tempted to live with the mismatch and buy the les paul. Or should I hold off and wait for a Mesa 212 to pop up and snatch it instead?

If you have always wanted a 1991 LP studio in that colour go for it. There will be other Mesa 212's.

I'm not one to give any types of chit whether the cab matches or not, so go get that Les Paul.

True, Mesa cabs will always be popping up. These guitars are getting harder to find. Decision made. Now I just need my other guitarist to hurry up and get back in town and bring me some money.

My only problem with this would be if the orange cab sold and a mesa 212 didn't pop up for a while. The mesa will be my only amp now and is useless without a cab.

Also, put the orange up for trade for a Mesa cab. Someone out there has a burning desire to own that Orange cab, I promise.

412's pop up all the time. 212's not so much.

I think the orange has higher resell value than a mesa 2x12...you should be able to trade it all day for a mesa 2x12...As stated above, I'd play the guitar first and go from there.

No, about the same. I have the PPC212 open back which was chinese made. I swapped out the chinese V30's for British GT75's though.

Buy the guitar and re-tolex orange cab...unless it's already black and you're wanting Mesa cab to go with your Mesa amp. Still buy the guitar.

Nothing wrong with a mismatch. Get the guitar.

Getting a new guitar is always much more fun then getting a different cab. I never really give a shit much about different cabs once u already have a cab with nice speakers as not much difference besides speakers.

I'd get the guitar. I've had the same Rivera Luke cab for years and years. It sounds great, and I*ll never get its value in money if I sell it.
