So I just happened to stumble on to these guys last night. Was listening to the new Carcass (the new At The Gates is much better) and found CC.

Talk about bad ass! I am sad to say Soufly turned me off to not only Max but Sepultura as well. This stuff kicks ass.

I only have the first album, but Inflikted is the shit. Still need to snag the others. Great stuff though. Easily some of my favorite stuff Max has done since Sepultura.

Yep. That kicks some ass. Catchy heavy. Soulfly was listenable at best, this brings it.

Haven't listened to this for all the same reasons in the OP but i will in a bit.

In the meantime, my favorite thing from Max since early Sepultura is Killer Be Killed (Max w/ Troy from Mastodon, Greg from Dillinger Escape Plan and Dave from ex-Mars Volta)

The whole album is extremely solid and i love the styles from all bands blending and the vocal mashing of all 3 of them)

Well that song certainly did NOT suck! I will have to check them out as well.

Don't be hating on Sepultura.

I haven't listened to Cavalera Conspiracy much at all. Does sound fairly brutal though. I have listened to that whole Killer Be Killed album a few times though and its pretty good. Not mind blowing, but damn solid. I have always liked Greg's voice.

Nah man, no hate here. Loved everything up to and including Chaos AD (I'm old). They lost me a bit on Roots. Stopped following them. Checked out The Mediator … and Kairos last night. Good stuff.

Even up through Roots; Sepultura was awesome. Once they switched singers, they lost all memorable songwriting skills. The first post Max was such a letdown.

Arise is still one of the greatest thrash albums of all of time. OF ALL TIME!

Arise and Dead Embryonic Cells still get busted out anytime I'm feeling agressive and can't think of any way to get it out. Guitar, amp loud enough to almost drown out the screams, and go.
