Dwarf refin

I scored a somewhat rare mini amp . the "Dwarf" circa '70's probaly a 75 or so . There can't be many out there and I'd bet the serial # is more accurate if you took off 2 #'s . It sounds pretty darn good , it's either battery powered or ac . It was trying to take on the pignose But I don't think they had the production down and probably couldn't keep up . Etched board and all looks like it took a while to make .The cab is a oak I believe and has some cracks here and there . I just took it apart and shot a bunch of glue in it . I'll sand it down and get it ready for the ReRanch Orange & clear that is on the way

I've got one of these babies, definately better than the Pignose. Gets pretty loud for its size too.

Yeah, I wondered about that gray clip too. Being the dumbass that I am, I didn't know what it was for until I saw your pics!

Yours is a little cleaner then mine , I had to fix a few cracks and whatnot in the cabinet . I just did a eggwash sealer coat . Starting to look "normal" again . I'm taking a bit of a chance but hopefully it will look good in Gretsch orange which is what the Reranch orange is going for . I start the sanding sealer tomorrow and should have some color on it in a few days . crosses fingers...

By the time you're done it will look like a new amp. It should look cool in Gretsch orange.

Yeah why not , hopefully won't f it up . They are cool amps . Line out , speaker out . Has a lot going for it . I do have a vintage 70's pig which sounds very good . I'd say this sounds that good but louder . I think they might have the same speaker or at least in the same family ,part of the charm no doubt .

Thanks man , there are not many floating around . I've seen only 3 , 2 of which are in this thread . I bet it took a week or more just to build one , meanwhile pignose probably pumped out a couple hundred .

I have a 90's one. I've read that the 70's Pignoses are a totally different amp than the newer models. I've been tempted to buy a vintage model more than once.

I have not yet used this into another amp but I have put the pig in front of several amps and it's amazing , gets you that Joe Walsh skanky sound right away .

I do also have a newer pig and that is not bad either , the old on is smoother though , especially cranked . Still it's a cool amp too .I have a rare white pig

yeah she's kinda like wtf , move this pig ! They did a run of black and white pigs and also a black pig with gold hardware for a anniversary edition . Still the old ones got it going on .

The amps are killer in front of another amp , many many classic rockers used them on some classic recordings . Still kicks an amp real good . + it may be the perfect home practice amp too.

Thanks man , that is ReRanch paint , that color is ReRanch orange , their nitro comes in rattle can , I used their sealer , color and then clear . I just went spray crazy and did it all yesterday I figured it didn't need to be perfect like a guitar but I didn't get any runs and it looks good . I'll have it back together tomorrow

Thanks for the info. I went to the ReRanch site and checked it out. I'll be placing an order soon. I hope mine comes out as nice as yours did!
