Awesome! Already checking on where to buy this stuff. Always been a major Sabbath fan and got into Trouble (the band, not the action) in the 80's, but never realized how much I'd like this genre.

There's only one recent doomy band I could really get down on. So of course they broke up a while back. They were from here and all three of the guys in the band were friends of mine. And then the bass player died over the weekend. Super sad deal, but the music remains some of the best I've heard.
I was listening to Yob for the first time in a long while yesterday, I forgot how god damn fucking awesome they are

I was about to say, not a single person has posted Goatsnake in this thread? Which IMO is clearly the most superior of all stoner bands besides maybe Sleep. 1 + Dog Days is a masterpiece of stoner rockage.

Man I haven't listened to Gates in a while. Never saw them when I lived in IN, but did get to see them in CA when Demiricous was on tour with them. The other guitar player, Scott Bronner from MercyKill (a band I was in also) had joined Demiricous at that time so I drove out to CA to see them in Bakersfield. Gates was great and I still rock my GoS shirt regularly.

Rock and Roll, bitches.
Thanks for the thread.
Doom is probably one of the best wormholes I've ever fallen down

I'm such a jaded snob when it comes to what has happened to rock that my shunning often keeps me ignorant to a lot of good shit that's gone down over the past couple decades. This doom thread, fresh breath of air for an old man with a lawn of bitter blades...

Yeah. My wife got me into them back before we got married. Good stuff.
