I don't have a clean amp per se, but before I got my GSP1101 I had my Laney setup as a clean sound and used pedals for the dirt. Without a doubt, it sounds great. I had this and an AmpTweaker TightRock and was able to cover all my grounds. I set this pedal up as my rhythm tone and the TightRock as my lead tones. Do keep in mind though, that I could have easily used this as a lead tone too, I just preferred the AmpTweaker for that. With the three way toggle and the contour knob I was able to dial in a variety of types of high gain and mid gain.
If you haven't tried this, I recommend checking out Pro Guitar Shops online demo. They record the pedals direct and then you use your output of your computer/interface to the input of your amp to hear how it would sound through your amp and cab. It is highly effective!
