Upgraded to OS X 10.9 only to find out Focusrite's software for Saffire Pro 24 only supports up to 10.8!

Aaarrgh! Wat do?

No install for 10.8. Had 10.7 which won't run Logic Pro X.

I'm a PC dude, but you might want to do some searching and see if "Asio4All" (or something similar) is available for Mac. It's a generic set of low-latency drivers that should work with most interfaces. Other than that, maybe dig deep into your interface's manufacturer's website and see if there's a beta drivers section. Those might support newer operating systems. For instance, my EMU 0404 USB (my favorite budget interface) is pretty old and it actually doesn't have any official drivers for Windows 7, but they made a beta driver for W7 before they discontinued the interface, and that driver works fine for me.

They only make it for PC. Focusrite is aware of the issue it seems and they are working on it ... supposedly.

Do you have a fusion drive in your mac?

If so...
Sounds like it's an Apple problem more than focusrite

Damn - are you getting and sound then it cuts out or is it bit recognizing the interface at all?

Not recognizing it at all. When I launch the Saffire Mix Control software (which seems to be required) it tells me "No device connected"

Any ETA from Focusrite on a fix? - now this does sound like their problem.

Wonder if there's a cheaper interface that you could pick up to use in the meantime that is confirmed to work with Mavericks.

Wait, something ain't right on your setup if you always had to run mix control to get your Saffire recognized. My Saffire Pro 24 is always available in audio devices whether mix control is running or not. If you go Apps->Utilities->Audio Devices and check and see if it's listed in there. One of the things I had happen during an OS upgrade on my system was it reassigned everything on the USB and Firewire buses so it ended up grabbing hold of the "old" assignment and giving me a dead device as my default. I went in, turned the default devices all back to built in, rebooted, then reset everything to the Saffire again and it was fine.

I won't say that'll fix what you have going on for sure, but it's worth a shot.

It's alive ...ALIVE!!!

Did a hard shut down after trashing and reinstalling the newest version of mix control. Unhooked everything and did a full restart. Launched mix control THEN fired up the Saffire.

Mix Control did another firmware update and voila! Metal a-go-go

Fucking phew!
