In your opinion, what is the best analog delay out there

Actually what is the best analog delay you have used and what is the best digital delay you have used and splain why you liked them.

I have a skreddy echo and a subdecay echo, both are really good and have beautiful trails, the skreddy being much warmer imo but the subdecay actually sounds better to my ears if that makes any sense.

as far as digital, I have an analogman modded DD-7 I think it is and that is a fun lil guy to use. I mainly use that one on my synths, it adds a really nice almost perfectly timed touch to what I play.

you know I love Moog but I have never played around with any of their moogerfoogers. Im sure the quality is top notch, how does it differ from lets say the maxon ad999?

It's huge so might be better for recording than live use. But the sound quality and the things you can do with it are second to none.

A bit cliche' by now, but I'm a big fan of the Carbon Copy. Previously, I had an Analogman-modded DMM and LOVED it, but the CC knocked it off my board & I eventually sold the DMM. The DMM was slightly better at the modulation side of things, but I liked the sounds of the repeats better with the CC.

On the digital side, I have a VFE Blueprint, which is supposedly "analog voiced." And I'd say that's fairly accurate. It's pretty dark for a digital unit (which I really like). Its modulation isn't as smooth, which I don't like, but overall, I'm thinking swapping it out with my CC for a while, mainly for its darker sound.

For digital, I've had dd-20, time factor, DL-4, echo pro, tc d-two and nova repeater. The dd-20 is my favourite because it has analogue dry through and the best modulation. But I've stuck with the nova repeater because its almost as good and much more simple.

I have only had cheap analogue but I love my memory toy- small footprint and mushy as fuck, love it.

I dig the Boss DM-2, it has a nice organic sound with smooth and creamy repeats.

Carbon Copy is great, I've been using it for a few years.. lately I use DD-7. It have very warm & natural sounding "analog mode". Sounds very similar to DM-2 but with more delay time. Not to mention other cool features: tap tempo, reverse mode, 40 seconds looper, modulation, hold etc..

I used to own an Ibanez AD9, and it was pretty rad. I ended up selling it and switching back to a digital delay, specifically the Hardwire DL-8. I realized the more crisp tone of a digital delay suited my playing style better.

I used to own the big green MXR analog delay, the one with the cord built in. That pedal had really really dark repeats that, at the time, worked really well in my effects loop. Loved that pedal, hated the clock noise. I was also a big fan of that blue and yellow Guyatone delay for the longest time, but it fell victim to the same issues.

The best strictly analog delay I've ever had my paws on probably has to go to the Moog, while the best digital is the Timeline strictly for featureset.
