man, i'm usually the one saying what y'all are saying. may have to rewatch at some point to reevaluate.

but it also sounds like y'all didnt pay a whole lot of attention either :cop:

I was in a theater and had nothing else to pay attention to. I just see a shit ton of movies. Somethings replace other things in my brain. I can gauge how much i liked a movie by how much of it i remembered after a month or so.

was referring to nightflame's earlier post. didnt seem to get the WHO research center's purpose, etc.
seemed like a cursory recollection of the movie at best.

but bad tastes stay the longest in the mouth, i suppose. and i very well may be on the other end of the orbit on movie opinions around here. mostly because im better than you, of course ;)

It was cursory as I watched the movie months ago. Sorry if me not loving it enough to remember every detail trips your trigger, sparky.

:idk:
it was a fairly major part. im not upset.

not judging you for it. just framing our viewpoints on those plot points based on my perception of what our experiences of them were.

It was a major part. And hugely boring.

It just came off like you were saying I wasn't getting it. I got it. I just didn't think it needed to last as long as it did to accomplish as little as it did until the scene where Pitt's character finally did something.

i liked the claustrophobic atmosphere and the wait....move....wait...stay silent idea. reminded me of the tension in video games like resident evil and metal gear solid. i didnt get bored from it. it was pretty direct i thought.

wake up, where am i, you're where you were trying to be, a who research center, oh yeah lol, yo where yo viruses be, i got an idea, over there, but that shit is crawlin, son, word, lets be quiet, whew made it barely, hope this works, fuck i dont think it worked, lets try anyway, think i just saved the world. better be sure, grab a coke, drop all the cokes to lure them back thisaway, walk through em like a boss.

This ain't a fight. This barely ranks as a lover's spat.

My thought was before they got to the silent move shit they spent a long time going back and forth about whether they should do it or not. It just drug. Once they were actually going to get the shit it was fine again. That scene was drawn out, but at least they were doing something. Just sitting there and going:

"Nah, bro."

"Uh huh."

"Nah."

"Uh huh."

"Nope."

"Yep."

For what felt like forever.

Forgot to mention, watched "After Dusk They Come" last night. I'd say about 6/10, mostly for Jewel Stait losing her pants late in the movie, and being wet for large portions of it so you could see right through her top. Utterly predictable horror movie. I swear I've actually seen EXACTLY the same story play out on EXACTLY the same island with giant spiders or some shit, but couldn't remember the name of that movie.

Anyway, Jewel Staite :thu: Movie bad otherwise.

in a fresh take on the commonly atrocious dialogue in modern cinema, we should start making movies with simplified dialogue like this
basically it would be like a 90 minute version of "honest movie trailers"

was on the other day when i got home, lady finished it through and after dinner.
chick flick, little bit of spy action thrown in.

When the DVD first came out for the first TF movie I spent several weeks re-writing the dialog with that sort of "detail" level. I'll have to see if I can find it. It was pretty funny if you knew the original scene and then read my version. It was clear they didn't give a fuck anyway, just as well cut out the attempt at communicating anything and just throw in single and double syllable phrases.

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit

Action movie? Meh

Jack Ryan story? Meh

Total Score? Meh....4.5/10

If you're REALLY bored and there's nothing else on, skip this and go to bed.

Yeah.

Oh, new one starts tomorrow! And fucks have run out. Congrat's, Bay. You took one of the most hardcore fanboys ever, who showed up for all three of the previous movies opening night with excitement(1), then trepidation(2), then outright fear(3), and turned him into a "meh" fan that thinks he may consider seeing #4 at home on a rental, if he can find enough alcohol to dull the pain of the dialog.

I've seen a few scenes of the final cut. The dialog is painful. Like, "I'm extremely uncomfortable hearing this right now" painful. Bad.

I have tried to watch the first TF movie 2x. I failed both times. I cannot imagine suffering through all 3. And I know you're a huge fanboy NFA so that must've hurt badly.

But Marky Mark is in this one!

He's the only reason I'm entertaining renting it. Sadly, most of his dialog that I'm aware of centers on, "make sure you notice my daughter's ass." Bay's been writing again. :cop:

"Seriously, sweetie, your shorts are shrinking by the second." Pan over her ass. "Cold water, air dry. How many times do we have to go over this." Still panning over her ass.

Marky Mark's more fun than that. I wouldn't mind that if it were isolated on it's own, but it appears to be a pattern in all the scenes I've been privy to thus far.

Yikes.

I like a lot of movies Marky Mark is in. They're usually not good, but they're often fun. He's made a good career out of being actor X. He seldom makes a movie better by being in it, but the roles he takes usually don't demand a lot either so he also usually doesn't make them worse.

Also, anything is an improvement over Shia Lepoof. Well, almost anything.

Shia LeDouche - "OOOOOOOOOPPPTTTIMMUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSS!" "BUUUUUUUUUUUUUMBLEBEEEEEEEEEE!"

Marky Mark - "Sweetie, your shorts." "Sweetie, hand me my space gun."

I'll take Marky Mark. Still, it's painful.

If the hook doesn't blow up every time you approach it, it wasn't really Michael Bay's.
