The first one was such a huge pile of fucking shit it's laughable, so I have absolutely zero desire to see any of the other films. I honestly can't understand why people think these films are so great.

They are far from great but I find them enjoyable.

They're alright in a "turn brain off and admire Jennifer Lawrence's backside in tight spandex" kinda way. My wife is in love with them though.
She liked City of Bones even better. Chick in that one's skinny, but still

able so

I'll take the Hunger Games over fucking Noah any day of the week. 3 weeks later I'm still thinking about how shitty that movie is. Its my new benchmark for all that is shit in this world.

Now I really want to see it. If it is that bad, I think I have to.

I saw that on Sci Fi. What is worse than a bad movie? A bad movie which is edited and then cut up with commercials.

Capt. Phillips 8/10. Much better than I expected. The pirates made the movie b/c they were so freaky looking!!
Joe 9/10. Excellent movie. Absolutely fascinating for a slice of life I've never seen (well almost).
Without giving anything away, the old black alcoholic who sits in a park for a drink should get a fucking Oscar. He NAILED that character!!

I'm a huge Tarantino fan anyways, I was not disappointed.
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed
Inglorious Basterds. How do they compare?
IB is a fantastic movie. Django was good, but didn't have the greatness for me compared to IB & KillBill. Same idea here, but slave vengence style. The bad guy Nazi in that one is a lead protagonist in Django and gives a great performance similar to Tom Hanks in Ladykillers. Leonardo had some good moments too...ok maybe it was a great flick
Last movie I saw was:

It had potential, but got kind of Hollywood silly. I made it to the end (due to SJackson), which is more than I can say for many other recent flicks.

Anchorman II - worst piece of sludge I've ever seen. I thought the first one was funny - I can't imagine a bigger disappointment for a follow up. I tried to turn it off about 4 times, but my wife insisted on struggling through it. I used to hate Steve Correll, now I dispise him... 0.1/10 (0.1 was the only partial point awarded for the RV rollover scene with the bowling balls & scorpion)

Hydra secret/underground base type thing, discussing thier future. Some weapon that looked like I probably should have recognized it, but I'm going to assume it's either Asgardian in nature or future-tech passed back to them somehow. "The Twins," freaky little fuckers, one able to control objects, make them float, move, smash into each other and fly apart, the other bouncing around reality like one of those horror movie kids, except wall, ceiling, floor, other wall, bed, ceiling, just constant movement.
That thing they were studying was the weapon Loki had in 'The Avengers', and the twins were the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, Magneto's kids. QS can move at hypervelocity, but the girl really interests me; in the comics what she does looks like magic, but what she really does is manipulate reality to suit her wishes and she's enormously powerful. I'm wondering if they're going to tie this into the X-Men eventually.
I dug Capt. America, and this one was even better; I'd give this one 9.5 out of 10, the only comic movie I liked better was the first Iron Man. RDJ friggin KILLED in that one, and I wasn't sure how he was gonna do after they announced him as the lead.
This is gonna be a great month for movies; Spider-Man 2 this weekend, X-Men DOFP end of the month and Godzilla in the middle. Can't wait.

So I was right about the Asgardian nature of it? Cool.

Whoah, knowledge droppin'. That's gonna set up some truly odd shit if they tie X-Men into the other movie continuity. Not that I think they can't pull it off. They've done incredibly well so far with this continuity. I'd just hate to see the whole thing go up in a puff of Wolverine's sideburns.

Yeah, I think they've done pretty well. I'm a huge comic fan and one of the things I always dug about Marvel was that any of the characters could show up at any time pretty much anywhere. I have decently high hopes for the new Fantastic Four, now that they know there's an audience and they can give it a good budget/storyline.
DC needs to take note of this seeing that their last few movies were just terrible...and the Christian Bale Batman movies were awful. No pace, severely lacking storylines, etc.....the newest Superman movie was better than I thought it would be, and the guy playing Clark was a good fit for the role. They should keep him on but knowing DC they probably won't.

Well, I'll disagree with the Bale Batman movies being awful. I wouldn't say they're as good as the current round of Marvel movies, but they were fun to watch.
What kills me with DC is how often they push the reset button on their movies. I don't think I or the wife will ever get into another DC movie line. I refuse to watch the new Superman and give absolutely ZERO fucks about their next in line Batman movies. And that sucks because Batman's one of my favorites as a comic concept.
I didn't even know Fantastic Four was coming again. I suppose it makes sense since they've built up such a good following for comic movies again.

I've gotta side with Nightflameauto on the Bale Batman movies. TDK was awesome, and Heath Ledger as the Joker was friggin EPIC

All good....the Bale series was pretty polarizing...either you liked it or you didn't. Ledger WAS a sick depraved lunatic as The Joker though, so that was redeeming to me.
I hear you on the reset button....I get that the movies take 2+ years to do and after 4 or so the guy playing Batman is almost 10 years older and might not want to anymore, but that's where Marvel shines.....Jackman has played Wolverine for 6+ films and I dig that; all the main characters in the Marvel series of films retain their roles and it's pretty important to me as a fan.
Dude....you won't watch Man of Steel? Fuckin ZOD! It's not as good as the current Marvel films but I think it's one of the best DC has done in years...the first one will always rule all, but this is definitely on the level of at least the 2nd Reeve film...Kryptonians, Krypton, Science Council, Faora (who is smoking hot and evil as shit), alien invasion, completely GIGANTIC destructive (CGI) fight sequences, etc...seriously...if you have a day off and want something to watch, do it. If you don't really expect it to win an Oscar you're probably going to be surprised. They did a great job with the special FX.....there was one scene where Supes got the floor taken out from under him and when he fell a little bit and then hovered, flying, like a reflex action it was pretty cool...like I said, I'm a huge fan and this is stuff that I'D do AS a fan in these types of movies.
I don't know about FF, but it's going to be weird having someone else play Johnny Storm now that he's playing Captain America....he did well in the Storm role (cocky wiseass and pretty annoying like he's supposed to be) and I hope they can get someone decently talented to fill it.
