Now at level 78, I took on the tree sentinel and finally beat him and also took out a Nights Calvary. I'll try Margit again tonight.

Lol damn, at level 78 you should be able to destroy that mofo

Vagabond, at first I was increasing mostly strength (which I have at 44 ) then started to concentrate on increasing endurance and vigor
Devin wrote:Yeah that dual boss fight in Redmane is one of the hardest ones to do at lower levels in my opinion. I actually killed Radahn first instead lol
I'm at the final area of the game, but have just been running around finding all the hidden stuff I missed lately before beating the game. Think I've got *just* about everything at this point

There were zero enemies in redmane when I went there

What weapon are you using, and have you upgraded it?

I've been using the lordsworn greatsword, I've got it leveled up to the point I need to go to the roundtable and have them upgrade it. Now it's trying to find enough of the smithing stone (2)
After I killed the tree sentinel, I started using his halberd and that's pretty awesome. I mostly ride on the horse and fight that way, with the halberd I can take out small groups of people at a time haha

Definitely use your most upgraded weapon (weapon upgrades make a bigger difference overall than stats do, unless the weapon has really high scaling) and two-hand the weapon if you weren't already
Also since your STR is high consider throwing fire pots as they scale with STR

Yeah I try to use two hands if I can remember to hold it with both. I stopped increasing strength because I saw upgrading the weapon made more difference. I'll have to give the fire pots a try, I've got all stuff to make them, I just have been spending all my time slashing everyone while on horseback.

If you convert the sword to a "Heavy" version it's damage will increase a lot more as you level STR.
Also, if you haven't done this yet, go to Murkwater Cave and fight Patches; he'll beg for mercy during the fight and afterwards you can buy an item from him called Margit's Shackles that you can use while fighting Margit to temporarily chain him to the ground, allowing you to punish tf out of him
rock flag and eagle wrote:I definitely haven't done that, I don't even know if I've been in that cave. I'll have to try it tonight.
rock flag and eagle wrote:Cool, I'll have to check it out tonight. I was exploring areas last night and found places I somehow overlooked before.
