I haven't seen Fryette post in a long time, unless I just missed it. And James Peters hasn't logged into HC in over a month.

it was great in the sense that everyone laughed very hard and told him how stupid and delusional he is to think that his "writing" wasnt terrible.

Wasn't RB exceptionally nice to him on that thread, or was that Billy? That thread was pretty

His reaction is pretty great.
Misplaced priorities and squandered opportunities.

Holy crap I remember that. So glad even my most basic students write better than that!

Also, I had forgotten that I basically ended that thread by posting the Backyardigans.

Re: According to HC, we've been pruned
This excerpt reads like a prison letter.
Your writing needs help on virtually every level, and it can be very, very difficult to learn these things on your own.
Cool, when are you planning to post the English version?
Steve, I think one of the biggest problems is that, like in most of your posts, no one seems to get what it is that you are going on about, which usually yields no one caring what you are going on about.
this is one is by far the best (guess who)
I rewrote it a bit so I hope you don't take offense to my edits:
I took too many drugs and not enough school. I attempted to traverse a mountain path but fell and hit my head really hard while psyching myself up for the trip. In my bathroom. At home. Then I got on the Internet and attempted to to tell others of the epic journey I never had. Except I smoked some meth with Bobby at the trailer park and GODDAMN OBAMA AND LIBERALS. Shit did I tell you about the time my daughter's bike was stolen? It had a Godin redline and twin reverb going through the front end of Chevy trailblazer. Speaking of trails, I looked for the sound of a wildebeest and stumbled down a cratered dirt; then banged my head. Why aren't politics smarter and how do you like my excerpt from, my novel? .....

Re: According to HC, we've been pruned
I love the "Welcome to the NEW HCAF" thread. So much I even replied to it. Some real winners on HC these days.
I guess I will end up getting banned there but I have no issues with being asked to leave the bar after the party is over

It's really too bad but some of the best HC people, like Jkater, are still hanging on. Wish they would jump over here.

Re: According to HC, we've been pruned
what I really would like to see is that site getting it together and going back to what it once was, and by that I mean late 90's/early 00's HC, when I would spend HOURS reading reviews and hanging out at the forums (or chat rooms, I remember they also had that at some point).
That was great and a big part of my life and it's pretty much gone forever. I am stoked that we are able to get at least the forum part going on here and it feels pretty much like home again, very much like HC did on the old days, but the wealth of information they had there on the user reviews etc is pretty much gone forever.
It's a classic case of corporate greed killing something that is great just to make money and failing to make any money out of it. Lose-lose.
My hope is that now that they de-valuated the brand so much, perhaps they will end up selling it eventually and hopefully the new buyer will be someone who actually cares about restoring HC.

I remember those days. I joined in 99. To be honest though, what ended that era was many of the good people disappearing and more and more trolls and kids moving in. I have no idea what caused those people to leave (though many of them are now over at rig-talk). The early days had a front page full of amp threads and knowledgeable people talking about music and gear, but it was still fun and not overly serious. By the end of it all, there was hardly an amp thread in sight. It was more like 4chan v2.0 than HCAF.

I agree and that's one thing I don't want to happen here. It's one thing to be able to have fun and off-topic conversations but this is not going to be 4chan lite. It gets to a point where it's just ridiculous.

This place reminds me in some ways of early HCAF. It's far more peaceful, people seem to get along and there is gear discussion going on.
