Finally watched Black Widow last night. We kind of fell off with trying to keep up with Marvel stuff. That being said, I liked this one. A bit darker than some of the more recent films. I dug David Harbor’s character a lot. The action was top notch. I’d say 7.5/10. Not my favorite Marvel flick but fun. Would watch again.

It looks like Sucker Punch in space with a less attractive cast.
But I will still give it a try.

Dune 2021 - 7/10
Very well made but dense as a brick wall and hard to follow. Excellent cast though.

I loved both Dune movies, and I've never read the books.
Rebel Moon 7/10 going in with no expectations.
Aquaman 7/10 Momosa is hilarious.
The Santa Clause 7/10 family tradition.

I love Dune. I’ve read the original 6 books several times and some of the prequels and sequels done by his son (admittedly those weren’t all great. But Frank’s originals are outstanding). I love David Lynch movie because of its flaws. I also love the newest movie because Hollywood finally saw fit to do Frank’s vision justice. I can’t wait for the part 2.

"Murder is something you can just kinda dip your toe into."
I love that damned movie.

Just started Rebel Moon because I am a glutton for punishment. In the first 3 minutes we have ideas stolen from Star Wars, Dune, Star Blazers, and every lame opening monologue describing the situation ever.

Barbie 3/10 - My GF saw it at the theatre and loved it. I thought it was a waste of time. I mean, I've seen much, much worse movies, but I just don't get why people think it's so great. It's really not that funny. Ryan Gosling is annoying as fuck.
Leave the World Behind 4/10 - Yawn! It started out just okay and got steadily worse and less believable.
Don't Say a Word 6.5/10 - saw this years ago when it was released. It's got a great pace and doesn't get boring. Michael Douglas is great as usual, and Brittany Murphy doesn't disappoint (damn, she was gorgeous!) Sean Bean is always a fantastic bad guy.
Taking Lives 7/10 - Another decent older thriller. 80s, 90s and early 2000s seemed to be a good time for thrillers. They got the atmosphere right. Another one with a good pace and a double twist ending.

Speaking of older thrillers - and Michael Douglas - have you seen "The Game? Pretty good flick. 8/10 for creativity and pace...

Yes. Absolutely. We talked about that one, and another called A Perfect Murder with Douglas and Gwyneth Paltrow. Douglas was on a hell of a roll throughout the late 80s, 90s, and early 2000s with Fatal Attraction, Basic Instinct, and Disclosure among others. We will probably watch The Game and A Perfect Murder this coming weekend.
