Paranorman.

10/10

Woulda been a 8/10, til I watched the DVD extras on how it was made. MUCH respect for the folks at Laika. VERY talented group of people.

this flick was crazy as all hell. it's an italian/mexican sword and sorcery film starring almost no one notable but features insane violence, tons of gore, and a healthy amount of nudity for good measure. the plot involves a wanderer carrying a magic bow who befriends italy's answer to conan the barbarian and the beastmaster, who join forces to stop the mostly nude, gold mask wearing, sun goddess and her evil band of dog-men henchmen.

it features:

a LOT of boobs
severed heads
brains and other organs
decayed swamp zombies
dolphins to the rescue
beheaded main characters
human to dog transformation
hallucinogenic drug taking wolf people
nude women being ripped in half by spreading her legs so far that it separates her, beginning with her vagina.

spider webb men fu
doppleganger fu
penciled in arrow shooting shrubbery fu

It tried too hard to be 'The Thing', I guess it's decent enough for a knock off movie.

Skyfall - solid 8/10. I really enjoyed the old school flavor towards the end.

Carnage - 5/10. Someone in here mentioned this movie, I didn't really find it funny at all. What I did find remarkable was that much of the dialogue was word for word almost straight out of every HCAF shitstorm ever.

Django Unchained - 9/10 - The two opening scenes with Waltz are as good as any I've seen

Lincoln - 10/10 - DDL and TLJ are as good as they've always been and I liked the fact the movie focused on how Lincoln was able to garner enough votes to pass the 13th Amendment.

Cloud Atlas - 0/10 - I really, really wanted to like this. The trailer looked fantastic. I had to turn it off after less than an hour. It was completely disjointed and confusing.

About Lincoln, I really enjoyed it also, but I think the ending could have been better. We all know how Lincoln dies, they should have just ended the movie with that shot of Lincoln walking down the hall on the way to the theater, instead of ending it around his death bed. Just IMO.

Pretty much my exact feeling. Kind of like The Thing and Alien had a baby, but Alien smoked and drank during pregnancy.

awesome film as are most of Fulchi's films. the dvd is kinda on the dark side so some of the action is tough to see. the wishbone kill is one of the best ever in a fulchi film.

if ken is in it it's proably pretty cool. all you have to do is give him a gun and have him say "motha fucka!" and you're gold.

on a side note, i watched 'from beyond' about a month ago. it had ken, jeff combs, and barbra crampton  in it.

kens's looking kinda old these days. they do give him a semi ripoff the dead will walk the earth speach to give. From Beyond is a fun movie i was expecting a little more when it came out but after a few viewings it grew on me (i did name one of my original songs after it as well).

yeah man, that's weird you're not finding it? I just am logged onto the site and it came up no problem. are you maybe looking on a NF phone app? the "DVD/BRD" titles won't show up that way.

Serenity 8/10. First time I've seen it after watching Firefly, this HAS to be done first. I first saw this film years ago and didn't quite gel with it, then I watched firefly.

Wife dragged me to see Warm Bodies

I liked it more than i expected to, but in the end, it's really just a sappy RomCom.

Man on Fire 8/10
I saw this years ago and it was on TV the other night. Man, I forgot what a total badass Denzel is in the film. Not an incredible script but the performances are riveting.

Lemora 6/10.

Wide awake nightmare theme. Young woman being chased, crawling around under the floorboards of an old house, locked in a small concrete building. Occasionally given food and water by a witch. Perverted religious undertones. Creepy early 70s gem.
