I thought USA were the better team for large parts of the game, England on top at the end.

USA have to beat Iran to qualify for the next round.

Yeah. USA looked great. I never really felt that England was being dangerous. Few scary crosses in the box. Shocking result.

Argentina v Mexico is pretty dull, hard to see where a goal will come from. Argentina have been very disappointing so far, i doubt a point will be enough for them.

Great goal by fernandez, flattering score though, Mexico fought hard.

There's been some great goals already in this tournament.

Finally a bet that worked out for me. Made $175 from a $20 bet. :)

Now if Morocco beats Belgium that would pay off the new Mesa

same here - though I typically root for Spain as long as they are not playing against Germany. At the end of the day a good performance of the German team is the minimum expectation regardless of the result.

The German team got off to a bad start against Japan and Spain came sprinting out of the box against Costa Rica.... I hope Germany is prepared for this game because I don't think it's going to be easy... they've shown they can get the ball in to the box just not put it in the goal and the reality is they need to win this game if they really want a chance of moving in to the Round of 16

yup.... now the only way they can make it to the next stage is if Spain beats Japan and then they beat Costa Rica.... while I think Spain will beat Japan, Costa Rica isn't a going to be an easy team to beat, even though Spain absolutely mopped the floor with them.... Thursday is going to be spicy for sure!

Decent game for Brazil today but I was honestly expecting a bit better. But that is good enough to qualify us to the knockout round so the next 2 games will be an opportunity to try out different lineups and strategies.

Really happy that team USA advanced to the 16s, I think it's their first time ever?

They are growing fast and played a great game against Iran today, this could have easily been a higher score, they created so many goal opportunities. Their inexperience still shows and sometimes they were too eager to finish where they could have worked the play a bit more. But they're making solid progress nonetheless.
