Right after the first 311 post, I went down the rollerblade rabbithole too. I wasted the rest of my afternoon. Hoax 3 was my favorite. We went skating constantly. I really miss those times. I had Senate jeans. I tried to start skating again a few years ago. I think I'm too old and fat. Luckily, I was able to retro fit some bigger frames onto my Razors. I put some 80mm's on there to skate around the park.

Fruit Booter? Never heard the term. I'm glad I could learn something new from this thread!

Yeah, fuck that was unlistenable. I love seeing him dancing around like these "riffs" and playing elicit that type of emotion.. Trying a wee bit too hard..

But if he's gonna do it, he needs to go take a lesson from Bobby(?) From those old Biohazard videos!

Fruit Booter's were a troglydite sub-species of skateboarder's and distant cousin to boogieboarder's(AKA Sponges). Both received a equal lack of respect within their respective performance venue's.

I will also use this opportunity to add to my previous post. I do not consider Biohazard rap metal at all but I can see many people who would so I will say that the first 2 Biohazard albums were amazing and Urban Discipline could be one of the greatest albums ever recorded.

Yeah, I hold nothing against early Biohazard. You can tell when bands are being genuine. They definitely are hardcore with rap style vocals, but they delivered it in the right way. I only had Urban discipline. Great guitar tone. Very dark sounding..

I never got into BioHazard back in the day. Their brand of tough guy attitude didn't translate for me back then, for whatever reason. In watching the vid above; I was wrong. That's some hard sh!t! I dig it a lot more this go round.

That is hilarious cause I too wasted the rest of my afternoon. I haven't thought about Arlo Eisenberg or Jon Julio in probably 20 years. I was even checking out what modern blades look like now. I was actually considering picking up another pair since there is a cement park right down the street from my house and I could use the exercise. My friends would be sure to ridicule me and I would probably hurt myself.

Do you have wide feet? If so, DO NOT GET ROCES. My dream skate was a Majestic 12. I finally got them when I was old. I tortured myself, and they never really broke in. Razors fit me pretty well.

Shit, my favorite pair I ever owned were my '96 RB lightnings. They were my first real skates that weren't from value city. I put a LOT of miles on those. They had the best axles, a comfortable boot, strong frames that worked great for grinding. I wish I could thank the MC sports salesman personally who sold them to me. I had no idea I would want to do aggressive skating when I bought them. The guy was like, "These are versatile and durable. You can do hockey or fitness skating."

We used to hang out downtown all day on the weekend and grind the ledges at the federal building. We would smoke cigars. I'm starting to thing DJ Derty and I were fucking weird.

From researching yesterday it seems for the last 15 years or they've been selling boots and frames separately. I just came across a new skate from USD called the Aeon 60 that is a unibody design. I remember when we were kids thinking these skates were so fucking expensive and now as an adult I'm thinking, "I could spend $300 on a pair."

My first pair was RB Lightnings. Swapped out the wheels & bearings, removed the stupid brake, and put grindplates on em. 1996, Skating rails and stairs at Grand Valley State University. Discman in my pocket, skipping like crazy. Scratched up CD of Deftones Adrenaline at full volume. Widewale JNCO corduroys. Ringer Tees. Eyebrow ring. Frosted tips.

I miss the 90's now.

I had a pair of Oxygen Argons! I did a lot of grinding on those, but damn were they big and heavy.
My last pair of skates when I was younger was a set of Razor Superflats. They were alright.
Then, I got the Oli Short Roces Majestic 12 as an adult. Hated the fit.
Then, I got a pair of Razor Genesys with a set of Ground Control Freeskate big frames.

It's funny how when you could use skates, you didn't have money. Now, you have adult money and you can't really utilize it.

Dude, skating to the Deftones! Yes!!

I was rocking steel senate grindplates for a long time. They lasted forever, and I could make them work on ledges with my weight and lots of wax.
