Does your username come from the fact that instead of playing manly gear like 4x12's, you would rather play 1x12 combos and have your anus fucked and prodded by the biker guy in the back alley?

I am STRONGLY leaning that way, now. The more I've thought about it, the less I like the idea of trying to make an amp into something it wasn't intended to be.

He has no problem selling people gear that doesn't work properly, as long as he's flipping for cash.

He had a problem with a silver jubilee combo a couple years back, and instead of getting it fixed he just passed it on to someone else for a nice profit based on the collectability.

I really think the DSL is the best Marshall ever.

No, it is NOT the best sounding or the most practical and or the cheapest Marshall ever.

You will probably get a better tone out of a 800, JMP or Plexi but they're impractical for a lot of low volume situations. And something like a MG is probably more practical to use at home but not good enough for a band setting.

The DSL does it all. And they go for $500-600 used. You can't beat that, really.
