As long as he doesn't keep giving the whole matter attention I think he'll be fine. But he might already be too deep in this infatuated bout of temporary insanity, believing he loves her and whatnot, to where he can't control himself and keeps sticking logs in the fire.

I've been in this exact position he's in, only I didn't have a room of guys knocking sense in to me. I was stuck to my own devices, and I did make bad mistakes that although they went undiscovered from my ex-wife they eventually played a significant part in what eventually ruined my marriage. I made these ignorant decisions with more than just one woman during that time, and I believed I had feelings involved when the truth was it was just an illusion I created for myself to cope with guilt for having lusty admiration for another woman who I knew felt the same for me.

There's also the underlying issue of some form of dissatisfaction lying under the surface. When you start believing that you have real feelings for another person it means there's a leak in the integrity of your overall happiness and satisfaction. The OP should also be aware of this and begin to self-investigate the possibility.

So I forgave her, and I told her that I wanted her to forgive herself... because she was going to need to find the strength to forgive me too... because I had also cheated. But guess what? She flipped and never forgave me, and acted as if she had never confessed anything to me. She almost moved out that night with my son. She was a stupid psychotic bitch.
