Whole thing is a slow burn and a lot of setup
That said, I'm looking forward to season two

I don't mind the straying from the source material (every movie has in some capacity, but Welcome to Racoon City was the closest) but I just couldn't gel with any of the characters. So we got through 1 episode and haven't gone back.

I dug the heck out of Welcome to Racoon City. Killer vibe. Yellowjackets was cool but definitely as Spawn said; big setup/buildup to S2. If they do it right

How did they make a show about civilization-ending mutants so damn boring?

The Orville having the Mocclin's get their come-uppance was nice, even if I am a bit over the whole Tolpa's a girl, a boy, a girl, a boy OH NOES! story.
And a rare Dolly Parton sighting. Nice.
I'm excited for Better Call Saul tonight. We're really coming down to the wire here. I suppose now that they've done the time jump they'll be all over the place trying to tie-up loose ends. Sigh.

Been watching Pickle and Peanut with the little one. Still not sure of this cartoon, but it's retardedly stupid. In a fun way.

Watching the Sopranos. For what I think (somehow?) is my first time. I really have no idea how I missed this? In S3 now and loving it exactly as I always expected.

Orville managed a decent episode and a good send-off to a not-so-beloved character. I'm glad we got to see a bit of evolution before the end for her, because she came on a bit strong at first, but it was a nice cap to an otherwise bog standard trope character.
The battle of the sexes babble is getting stale, but at least it went full-blown stupid during the Mocclan / Krill negotiation. Ted Danson setting up the inevitable was a nice bit of story-telling for him to get out of his contract and move on with his mayor show. Burke doing her duty despite her feelings was well played. And seeing the Kaylon come to grips with the fact that they were *GASP* wrong about something is going to leave a lot of exploratory breadcrumbs for possible character development down the line.
Lots of battles and that music is crushing it this season. You can tell they got Disney money involved with all the over the top and bombastic music, though sometimes it seems they overplay the hand. I'm not sure the Krill joining the crew of the Orville needed the full battle trumpet routine, but whatever.
Not bad for Trek with dick and fart jokes. I do miss the jokes sometimes, but Didney gonna Didney.

Just finished season 1. Good twists. So I’m pretty excited to see where season 2 goes.

I’m digging it. 5 episodes in. Only episode I didn’t care for so much was Episode 4. Just because I thought Gwendolyn Christie’s Lucifer fell really flat for me. Everything else in that episode was great. Episode 5? Fucking awesome.

Only got to watch one episode of Sandman this weekend. Wife's not huge on it, so it'll have to be a slow trickle for us. I dug it, and can't wait for more.
We've been watching "The Anarchists" on HBO. While the first three episodes or so are setup, once the shooting starts shit goes fucky fast. I find the juxtaposition between where they started, just wanting to escape 'the state' and make their own little community, only took one person being a complete shit to tear it down. Well, the side-story of the crypto-bros taking over for a year+ was pretty telltale of how everything, including wanting to escape the state and huge banking conglomerates, leads back to wanting to make money. Human nature = shit.
Another good doc series from HBO worth watching if you feel your faith in humanity is a little too high right at the moment.

Is it like the recent HBO one where moby and the festival promoters just conveniently blame Fred Durst for all of their fuck ups and gross negligence?

I've heard elsewhere that Sandman goes from epic to utter shit in the last few episodes. I'll probably just bow out. I get very limited leeway when it comes to bizarre shit my wife will let us watch, and I don't like to push it on things I know turn out badly.
Better Call Saul is getting... hmm. Not sure how to put it. I mean, there weren't many 'good' options for this story to go down, but I'd hate to see it go full-blown predictable bullshit like it seems to be heading for right now. What made Breaking Bad so good was you never really knew what was going to happen next. And while in the aggregate you knew a general direction for Better Call Saul, the "future" (i.e. Gene) was open ended. They could have played with expectations a little there, not just slapped us on the face with them repeatedly.
Hopefully I'm wrong and they pull it out. While it's still masterfully shot and told, the plot's getting predictidumb on the level of most any other show. Which is hugely disappointing.

Just started S5 of Sopranos. Still rolling along nicely. Buscemi is in this season. Interested to see what he brings to the table.

I watched this last night. John Scher is still trying to blame Fred Durst for everything. Did Fred outsource the food and water? Did Fred set their prices? Did Fred outsource sanitation? Did Fred select the location? Did Fred understaff security? Did Fred understaff medical? Did Fred hand out 100,000 candles despite being told it was a bad idea? John Scher is someone who desperately needs to be repeatedly punched in the face until he gets it. Michael Lang, to me, seems like someone whose mom wiped his butt until he was 23. He is convinced everything will come up rosey, without ever actually doing anything to make it so.
Agreed.
Don't expect peace and love when you book a bunch of rollerblading nu metal bands at a military base with no water and no sanitation in the middle of summer, then proceed to hand out 100,000 candles and lighters.
I'm kind of glad they trashed the place.
John Scher is complete piece of shit.

Finished Sandman. I loved it, but I’ve read the comic series about 100 times over the years. There is a huge shift in focus and tone going from the preludes and nocturnes stuff to the Doll’s House. I thought it was done well but I get why some folks would drop off.
