Im glad i have the brass safety bar blackbird. That baseplate just hits differently than steel or titanium. The beard micro polishes brass.

Btw, loving the barba sana blue right now. It’s a acqua di gio clone from the furbo co.

Well, I just bought a 3D printed storage/disposal travel box for 100 blades, another Henson Al13, and 100 blades. I should have bought the box a month ago, because I am tired of burning through blades while I travel. I need to get a larger toiletry bag, too.

Do you fellows want to do a travel box?
I have a bunch of AS and soap (mostly AS) that I tried once and is now, collecting dust.
I load up a box, send it to one of you and when it arrives, you take what you want.
Then, you top it off with your dust collectors and send it on to the next guy.
Eventually, it makes it's way back to me.... hopefully, with none of my stuff left!
What say ye?

I say I was the dumbass who forgot the last travel box. PM me your details, so I can ship it out next Saturday, when I’m home (for the one shipping day I’m home for the next month). It’s sitting in my closet, collecting dust.

So here's a thing. I've never really been that guy that puts thought into bags, especially one for myself. Found myself lately just wanting something really good; I've just always used whatever when it came to Dopp kits and they always annoyed me, especially after I got into the wet shaving game.

Some of you guys know I'm an OTR truck driver, I go out for 7-10 days or so at a time. The Dopp I had always meant I had to leave my wet shaving gear at home and use a trimmer if I shaved at all.

That started to annoy me so I looked around and found this thing, the Saddleback Leather Big Mouth Toiletry kit.

Looks like this:

Image
Image
Image
Image

I think it looks cool as fuck and it's only going to look cooler as it ages and gets nicks, takes dings etc.

As you can see, I was able to fit a ton of stuff in there.

This thing is made of top grain cowhide with a pigskin interior that's butter soft, and the thread is UV rated poly, the same stuff they use for ship sails. This motherfucker has a 100 year warranty. Yep, you heard right.

A ONE HUNDRED YEAR WARRANTY. Anything goes wrong with it, I ship it back and they fix it, no questions asked, on their dime.

I feel like at 49 I bought the last Dopp kit I'll ever need lol

Anyway, if you're looking for a really good lifetime type bag, check out SaddleBack Leather....they make these, duffel bags, briefcases, wallets and every other type of leather thing you might ever need, and it all has that same warranty.

Carry on with your regularly scheduled programming fellas.

Man, that is one nice dopp bag!!!
If they could only make cars with a 100 year warranty!!!

Back in the 1980's, I boughr a nylon toiletry bag from a camping store called, Eastern Mountain Sports.
I still use it, but it's not nearly as cool looking and it only holds half the stuff.
The only redeeming feature is; the cover unzips and has a flip up coat hanger to hang it on the back of the bathroom door.
I'd like it a lot more if it could hold as much stuff!

I am so close to getting that dopp bag, but there might be some events in my immediate future, which may curtail my spending habits.

I had to settle for a ballistic nylon bag that I got from Target for $30. It’s bigger than my old one, which will be very helpful for my incoming blade box.

I received my new Henson, which will become my home razor, and my current home Henson becomes my travel razor. I also received the blade box. 100 blades packed very nicely into this box, and I bought a second one for my home use.

It’s a dude in New Mexico, who makes them with a 3D printer, and sells them on Etsy.

Those blade storage boxes are really cool. They allow me to store 100 blades, in a much neater, smaller space than twenty tucks fill. I bought three more, and that’ll be it. It won’t store all of my blades, by any means, but it will clear up some of the clutter in the blade drawer.

I've been using my RazoRock Lupo (Wolfman clone) as my primary razor for over a year and I love it.
Today, I was inspired by andvari7 to break out my Henson.
I gotta say that, the way Henson designed their head is genius.
The flat surface that you run against your face automatically provides the optimum blade angle.
I'm going to continue using it for a few weeks to see if it will kick the Lupo out of it's #1 spot!!!

10/10
The aftershave is Phoenix Shave's Vetiver Planet. They reissued it last week and I have a new bottle on the way so, I wanted to start using this up. That's a vetiver root that you see inside the jar.
https://phoenixartisanaccoutrements.com ... iver-roots
Maestro Mechi was generously donated to me by Geno and it's in regular rotation.
The small, Omega boar brush is used with soap that's packaged in smaller diameter containers.
Blade is a Feather Stainless, yellow label.

No pic today but I used some smaller soap makers stuff today: Wicked Rooster Company Coffee Clove and Clementine. Lathers great and smells nice. They’re on Etsy but not currently offering that scent as a shave soap. Good things my puck is still going strong. Been using my SLOC since I got it and pulled back out the Enoch today. Haven’t touched the Enoch in months but it was nice. Super smooth shave. Blood only because I cut one zit. 10/10.

I’ve really fallen in love with the 3D printed blade boxes, and I have one minor complaint: I wish they came in 1000-blade sizes.
