My Halloween shave was with Samhain soap and aftershave. Been a few days since my last. Probbaky will do one tomorrow.

Well, that's a coincidence. I shaved with Black Watch this morning. Great stuff. I seriously don't think I've ever had a bad shave with Seaforth anything.

BTW, I bought a Titanium Blackbird. Should be here on Saturday.

Don't forget Sea Spice Lime... it's the awesomest!!!

If I had to rank them:

Favorite to least favorite:
1. Fleur de France - like the most fresh musk version of brut ever. amazing. Even my 3 y/o likes it
2. Heather - CLASSIC French Fougere. Smells similar to lavender heavy traditional French herbal accords (like MDC original. Le Pere Lucien original. L'Occitane. etc).
3. Sea Spice Lime - Great. versatile. works in all weather. Smells limey, but not fake. awesome performance for a citrus. this was probably the biggest achievement, scent-wise, but my preference is fougeres.
3. Black Watch - Also great. Smells old, but not gross. Definitely sandalwood mixed with fruit. There's also something like lemongrass too. It's a good one.
5. Spice - just a bit too sweet. I still like it though. Too sweet for warm weather. Maybe not enough dark oomph for cold weather.

WTF... I'll have a go...

EDIT - Black Watch arrived today, Nov 18th.

1 - Sea Spice Lime - What Gino said. They really hit the nail square on the head with Sea Spice Lime. My desert island fav.
2 - Fleur de France - Had no idea it was a version of Brut; it smells more old school to me, 1940's to early 50's. The g/f likes it a lot.
3 - Heather - Real old school, 1930's awesomeness.
4 - Black Watch - started off OK, kind of woodsy with a bit of spice then, it turned into sweet, really strong, long lasting, Double Bubble Gum!!! Not bad, though... tied with Spice for 4th place.
4 - Spice - Nice but, a bit too something for me... can't really figure this one out. Needs a bit of rum and Jamaican Bay Leaf?

Seaforth Black Watch arrived today....

I've been using the Lupo for about 6 months - it's a mild razor that has become my #1.
Today, I broke out the Charcoal Goods Everyday and slapped in an Astra. The CGED razor is medium agro and I got a BBS with no effort at all.

Black Watch Soap - bast lather eva!!! Seriously amazing lather... held a lot of water and smells fantastic. Love it!!!

Black Watch Aftershave - the g/f and I had the same reaction: it started off with a nice, outdoor spice scent but it quickly morphed into Double Bubble Gum!!! Strong, robust, long lasting Double Bubble!!! It feels more oily than the other Seaforth AS and since, the oil doesn't dissipate as quickly, it's loooonnnng lasting. I think I'll add some vodka to cut the strength. I'm sure it will be in regular rotation after it's weakened a bit. As I'm typing this, it's morphing into root beer!!!

Been busy as fuck and traveling a lot, so not many shaves this year. Been home maybe 8-9 days, got a few in, mostly using the one Gene hates the most, East Egg.

As it's been snowing for the last 5 days straight and there's maybe 10 inches out there, I had a jones for summer, hence the Diamond. I love the SH series, just makes great thick foamy lather with zero effort. BB always #1, and that brush from Grizzly Bay has been my #1 for going on 2 years now, just always great. Costa Azzura from Tom Ford is a nice summery scent, but can go for winter too as it's a little heavier than my summer mainstays.

9.5/10 for a small nick that stung for a good 5 minutes but cleared when AS was applied.

Stein, when did you get an open comb for your BB? Is it a different color?

FWIW, I've expanded my Blackland collection bigtime.
Got the BB Lite plate
Also got a Titanium BB
SS Vector (again)
Limited Edition Machined Dart with stand.

Noice!

Was a while back, it’s a brass OC. Dig the look, and it seems slightly less aggressive.

Still have the Vector and I’ll use that once in a while and still have the Sabre too. Blackland stopped me buying any more razors lol.

Was digging around in the closet and found a box of shaving stuff I hadn't seen in awhile, figured why not.

9.10, BB needs a new blade and I couldn't be bothered, otherwise would have been a 10.

I had a Braun that I used for years, until the grill broke. It was an excellent electric razor.
Then, when I went to buy some Gillette Sensor blades at the local CVS, I was like, WTF?!?!?! $24 for 8 blades!?!?!
Instead of buying another electric, I got into double edge razors - the added danger makes them fun.

Man, that sucks. I guess he wasn't selling enough to make it worth staying in business?
It's a great razor so, I wasn't planning on getting rid of it anytime soon... unless the public creates another Tradere bubble. :hmm:

I have the AL13 in medium.

It's a GREAT razor. That said, the medium is fairly mild. I would presumably HATE the mild version.

I got mine before the price change, plus, I had a 10% coupon at Pastuers. So, it was $45.

$70 is kind of high for an aluminum razor with no stand. I would try to wait for a sale somewhere. That said, I don't really like many razors under $100 these days. I'm currently using:

Blackland Sabre L2
Blackland Vector SS
Blackland Blackbird Lite
Blackland Blackbird Ti
Blackland Era (discontinued :( )
Blutt 1.20mm
Tatara Muramasa
Tatara Nodachi
Muhle Rocca

The Nodachi and Rocca are prob the cheapest on this list (aside from the discontinued Era)

I ordered the mild one, as I won’t be using it just on my face. I used Dollar Shave Club forever and they just changed their handles and razors to some cheapass plastic shit like you can buy in stores, and the cartridges suck now, so I’ll be canceling that. Might as well use the giant box of Derby double edged blades I’ve got.

I have a Henson AL13 as well and it's a good razor. I believe, andvari7 uses a Henson as his #1.
These days, my aluminum RazoRock Lupo is my #1.

I don't know what your plans are, Murdock, but I'm not so sure I'd want shave anything other than my face, with a DE razor!!! Good luck!!!!
