First shave in five days. Went alright. This blade doesn’t like the blackbird open comb. So it was kind of rough.

This miyake cologne rocks.

9/10

Didn’t take a pic of my SOTD, but I had a nice one with some Southern Witchcrafts Autumn Ash and the whiskey woods aftershave. I smell like burnt leaves and bourbon. Think I’m gonna be ordering some more SW stuff soon. Been a minute.

Impulse control is shit these days so I just ordered some SW Samhain and Necromantic with matching aftershaves.

3rd shave with this blade on the Enoch. 3 or 4 is probably the max. This one was good though for this time. New to me SW stuff. I wasn’t sure about the scent before and during the shave. Sitting with it a few minutes after, I’m digging it. Aftershave is a nice touch. Gonna try Samhain next go round. I think I have a nice collection of SW stuff for fall and Halloween season now.

Samhain is legit. I love this scent.

Enoch is bringing it. Like these blades. May try some feathers.

10/10.

Glad you're digging that Enoch, GM!!! :thu: :thu:

These are my three boar brushes...

Left: Omega 10077 - $8.49 - just got it from West Coast Shave.
The shorter bristles make them a bit stiffer and more scratchy but, it works well.

Middle: Turkish No Brand - $2.99 - the flat top makes it easy to whip up a lather. It was my favorite until I got the 20212.

Right: Omega 20102 - $19.99 - My all time favorite brush. I like it better than badger and horse hair. Synths come in second to the 20212.
The flat top makes it easy to lather and the longer bristles are more flexible (than the other two) and less scratchy, but still firm.

I haven't used the SLOC in a while because, I've been digging the Lupo and I've been putting the thumb screws on the new Henson.
The SLOC used to be my favorite and I used to recommend it as a first razor. It's still an excellent razor but, it's slightly more aggro and it needs a smidge more care than the Lupo or the Henson. I've decided that the Lupo is the worlds best razor, followed by the Henson and the SLOC comes in third.
Since, it's cooling down, it was time to break out some balm. Pre de Provence rebranded their signature balm as "Bergamot & Thyme"... same good stuff different name.
Got a few paper cuts so, 9/10
Barbedeaux works great on paper cuts, with balm on top.

First time with a modern artisan soap in a while. Seaforth stuff rules.

Muhle rocca kicked butt.

I tired all the Captain Choice aftershaves so, I had to try their new, Island Time... it's pina colada with too much pina... meh.
Figaro is really thick - I like the squeezable shave creams like this one and Poraso.

Just a heads-up... Barrister & Mann isn't a huge operation so, they're prolly going to sell out in the next few days.

The dune label looks like goatse.

Perfect shave. I was hating this carbon razor until I used a Kai blade. Too mild with normal blades.

Brass & soul is awesome.
Barbedeaux is still the best.

No pic but I got family pics tomorrow. So I did a good shave today (it’s been over a week) and now I should only need a brief touch up tomorrow. Plus my facial hair grows slow.

Today was the Enoch with some tried and true Palmolive crema de barba in the tube and Seaforth spiced aftershave. I love it. I think I need more Seaforth stuff.

The bottle of Melange AS arrived today... smells like bay rum with pine... I like it but, it's strong, like cologne. I may have to cut it with some Tito's vodka or Haitian Rum. :hmm:

Decent old-school stuff. Can someone explain why it's considered to be better than electric rotary shavers(like these)?

1) electric razors are boring
2) you can get a closer shave with a razor
3) there is no fear with an electric (see #1)
