20 minutes into The Wheel of Time and I am wondering if the scriptwriters actually read the book or only the summary on Wikipedia. Probably enjoyable for someone who hasn't read the book, though.

I never even heard of the books till I saw the adverts for the show.... I watched the first 3 episodes... pretty cool IMO...

To be completely fair to Wheel of Time, if they followed the books to the letter all the actors would be dead before they get through their first journey. Those books sprawl like a dude just discovering how to world build.

I enjoyed it for what it was. Not great, not shit, just a fantasy adventure. :idk:

We also started Beforeigners. Holy crap this show is epic funny. It starts serious enough, but the idea of shoving vikings from that time period into a modern setting and then watching the chaos just leads to so many ha-ha moments. Like the dude that never wears clothes and is a big tough guy telling the other dude not to interrupt his wife's blog party for pillows. The pillows themselves. Dude's covered in blood and then uses his clean hand to very carefully move the pillows before sitting down. Fuck sake, I was dying.

The viking chick cop is probably my new number one TV character. Holy shit is she unintentionally hilarious. Like 99% of the time she's just razzing the shit out of everybody else without even realizing she's doing it.

As for Big Mouth? If you're in on the first season, wait'll it builds a while. Holy fuck. John Oliver as the camp counselor about kills me. "Oh SHUT THE FUCK UP, MILK!"

I think the humour and the humor are both great. :nerd:

They do a really good job of blending the US/UK cultures in that respect. Cool character development too. It’s well done and I don’t feel like I’ve wasted my time when I watch it.

I have a really hard time sitting down to watch TV.

I’m a couple episodes into Cowboy Bebop , I never watched the anime so don’t know how it compares.
It’s okay so far, I like John Cho as Spike.

Same. Never watched the anime which probably makes it easier to like. Faye Valentine steals the show.

Fucking irritated; started a show called Jupiter’s Legacy. Basically this group of people goes thru some shit and ends up with superpowers, goes onto them doing superhero shit for the next 60 years or whatever, and now the supervillains are getting crazy with it and trying to kill all their super powered kids. Different eras etc. Was pretty slow going but I was digging it and the last part was a huge announcement/cliffhanger.

Only one season, it got cancelled. Fuck.

I ended up watching the rest of the first season, definitely got better as it went along and yes Faye totally stole the show. Season 2 should be interesting, seeing as how it ended.

Finished Lasso. Excellent.

Curb has offended every segment of society this season. Which is perfect.

Dexter still good. Not remarkable but good in a "thank god for no colin hanks" sort of way

American Rust: Mare of Eastown starter kit. Without good writing, likeable characters or any acting skill. Pretty lame.

Started Yellowjackets on Showtime. Despite it getting called a riff on Lost; it's actually pretty good so far. Mainly because Ricci and Lewis. We'll see how it goes.

Shadow & Bone: OK fantasy dressed up loads by good acting and decent character interaction.

Solar Opposites: Every time you think this show has pushed to ludicrousness it somehow manages to up the ante. The wall society in particular is one of those things that could have just been a throw-away joke and instead it turned into a several episode span of real deep shit, while still being funny as fuck.

I have recommended to my friends to wait until season 2 comes out. Nothing really happens in season 1 and I think that this show will get good as she learns how to use her powers.

I wouldn't say nothing happens. Though season 1 is definitely a setup season. I come to expect that with any decent fantasy if they intend to have some legs with it. Book 1 / season 1 sets the stage. Unless it's 700 pages of nothing blah in book form. Then piss off. Ain't got the time.

Slowly catching up on Doctor Who. And I mean slowly. We finished the 11th Doctor earlier in the year and finally got started on the 12th. I’m enjoying Peter Capaldi’s Doctor so far. I do want to get to the Jodi Whittaker stuff eventually but I’ll get there when I do.

Wynona Derps has gotten so goofy this latest season that it feels like they've been stoned in the writers room the entire season. Good lord.

I have trouble not hearing this in my head over and over when watching it. "How'd you land that, McMurray, you piece of shit. She's a straight twelve and you're a low four at best."

Gave Yellowjackets a try based on your rec. Only thing I hate is that it just started and I could only watch 3 episodes. Motherfucker.

Nice. Agreed on your "Only 3?" irritant. I will say it could go down in flames, just like Lost; depending on how they roll with it. But I like the concept enough so far that I will give it some time to see where they get with it.
