I'm a Ferrel fanboy, I even liked Kicking and Screaming.
GI Joe Retaliation 6/10 Ugh, who casts a Wu-Tang rapper to act?

Wow I actually think that's too kind of a rating. I give it a 2/10.

Everything Must Go- 7.5/10 Not the usual comedic Will Ferrel, but it was a very good story and his performance was great.
Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead- 7.5/10 Great cast. Dialogue seemed a little stiff, but the cast really saved it.

The Lone Ranger - 6.5/10
Far more entertaining that I expected! Depp is Depp, so there's that. I'm a big fan of William Fichter and he does a solid bad guy. However, Armie Hammer is NOT leading man material. Far too bland. I kept thinking he looked a little like Jared Padalecki minus the charisma.

Pacific Rim - 9/10
Some flaws, but GAWD DAMN. I mean GAWD DAMN. Jesus wept. Tears of joy. Because he knew someday this movie would be made.

^^I'd have to concur with a 9/10 on Pacific Rim. Great solid popcorn flick. Dear god the scale is massive in this movie. And the Japanese chick in it: Would.

Oh yes. Yeeeeeeessssssssssssss.
And I don't care that it'd be physically impossible. There's no pwnt like shippwnt. From here on out, anybody making a giant battle movie that doesn't have a shipment of pwnt delivered to one of the combatants has failed. The bar has been raised.

I haven't seen this movie, but this
writeup on it is pretty epic. It sort of makes me want to watch it just to see for myself the shitstorm, er sharkstorm of terrible it must be.
But, I don't know...it sounds pretty wretched even for a SyFy movie.

That Sharknado movie was all over the news this morning. It was being hailed as the best worst movie of all time. Our weatherman was on twitter and laughing at how the meteorlogical society was getting all bent out of shape over it, while simultaneously getting bent himself. I'm afraid I'm going to have to watch it.

It was actually better than the first.
I'm still kinda iffy on Pacific Rim.

dude, just search the #Sharknado tag on FB and spend hours lulzing. i was on Twitter last night watching real-time updates and some of the shit I saw had me in tears. here's one from Brit Hume:
"@JonahNRO Tuned in #Sharknado to see what all the fuss was about. When a shark shot out of a manhole, I went back to the golf channel."
and from Whataburger-
"in the event of a #Sharknado Whataburger will remain open for anyone seeking refuge"

I know.

I've watched a bunch of those terrible "big movie" ripoffs like Transmorphers and whatever the Battleship one was.
But the animal ones that SyFy does I've never given a shot. Wait...no, I might have watched one about piranhas....
Its amazing how bad they are.

Dude, DUDE, Megapython vs. Gatoroid =

Debbie Gibson and Tiffany throw down like we always wanted to see them do.
There's also a couple of them with this blond chick that has, quite possibly, the nicest ass ever filmed running in a pair of jeans. So much so that my wife refers to her as, "the chick with the nice ass," when we're discussing those movies. I'm thinking one of them was Sharktopus or something. I remember there being eggs on a boat somewhere. Maybe it was a snake one? Fuck, they're all the same movie just with different settings and actors. They all blend together eventually.

They are. But, the best part is, they recycle shooting locations. The same factory appears in at least 3 of them.

I think I watched that Megapython vs. Gatoroid one. I can't say I remember anything about it though besides Debbie G. and Tiffany being in it.

None of them exactly leave a lasting impression.
Debbie Gibson has essentially become a career gal for SyFy at this point. She's director/producer for about half the shit movies they make. She stars in the other half of them. Some movies she does both.
Megashark FTW though. Flying shark takin' down an airplane mid trans-ocean flight.

OMG! I've seen more of these than I thought. I must block them out!

I remember that because the scale was hilarious. That struck me even more than the fact a giant shark was taking down a plane, it was that the scale from one shot to another was completely wrong.

Did megashark have a battleship that was going to try and take it out? I seem to remember one where they kept cutting to a poorly CGI'd battleship for some reason. It also had lots of shots of the command and control center.
Wait, was that megapython vs. gatoroid? God, it is the same terrible movie over and over.

Megapython/Gatoroid I THINK was the one with the giant explosives on a helicopter with a bridge scene toward the finale. I *THINK* you're right about the battleship being in Megashark.

Pacific Rim 10/10 No, pacific rim is not the greatest movie ever made. But holy hell was it what I was hoping for out of a movie featuring giant robots and giant monsters!
Cheesy stock action movie cliches? Sure.
Silly one liners? Yup.
Comic relief scientists who help save the day? Uh huh.
GIANT FUCKING ROBOTS BEATING THE SHIT OUT OF MONSTERS? FUCK YES!
A more objective review would probably be a 7/10 as the acting wasn't amazing, the dialog at times silly, and this wasn't exactly breaking new ground in movie making, but I loved it. Total blast.
I will say, the previews before it pretty much told me I don't need to worry about seeing a movie in the theaters for awhile. Wow it looks pretty bleak.
Seventh Son looked like an entertaining Netflix watch. Same with 2 Guns.
Anchorman 2 looked pretty terrible which I was scared of. The first one, comedy classic (and I'm not really a Will Farrell as a leading man fan). The preview for this one....rough.
There were like 3 more previews (seriously, wtf?) and all of them were so unmemorable I couldn't tell you what they were.

I think it was pretty damn good. Its not like its changing movies forever, but for a fun big budget SF action movie, hell yes.

Yeah, that SyFy stuff is often what I'll put on when I don't want my brain to function as the TV drones in the background.

Yeah, I'm interested to hear what others think. Its just one trailer, but Anchorman was pretty epic as far as goofy comedies go and a sequel 10 years later...idk, it just didn't look good. But it was a short preview.
Apparently they are making a Dumber and Dumber sequel? Cause that's what the world needs?
