kinda crazy, then i watched a Youtube video with some breakdown explanation and theories about it, and now i can't wait for next season.

There is no doubt that next season will be far bloodier.

I tried to get in to Raised by Wolves..... but it just didn't click with me.... which isn't surprising, most of Ridley Scott's recent stuff just doesn't do it for me.

it picks up more as you get further into it, and the last episode is just plain nuts.

I got about 4 episodes in and after I missed the 5th episode and had no real desire to look it up online etc. I realized it just wasn't for me.... even some "bad" shows I feel compelled to see it through just to get closure.... this one I could give two fucks about what happens to the dude impersonating another dude or the kid

Rosario Dawson is awesome in this week's Mandalorian. And baby Yoda continues to amaze me as something I thought would absolutely loathe but instead brings a sense of wonder and charm to the show that is pretty much unprecedented. Good stuff.

yeah.... the last episode was awesome.... and the whole "I've seen this before" warning with Aniken/Vader was a nice twist as well.... and to f
inally find out Baby Yoda's name was pretty cool as well
I thought Rosario Dawson nailed Asoka as well.... and hope the spin off series with her becomes a real thing

^my son follows the Star Wars universe much more than I do and he was very impressed. I'd watch a spin off if it was as good as what she did here.

Finished up Fargo S4. KILLER season.
Warrior has been excellent in S2 as well.

The Boys is on our radar now that Jensen Ackles will be joining. That moved it from my "want to" list to the wife's approved list.
His Dark Materials is actually pretty decent this season, though a little slower than last season. It feels like they're really building up to something massive. Hopefully they don't botch the landing. Luckily, it's not HBO proper but an imported UK show so there's some hope they'll pull through.

the season finale of Fargo was great.... although I did see at least one of the twists coming, but it was still great in it's execution.
I agree His Dark Materials is going slower than I'd like it but I'd say it's picking up the pace, I suspect to end up at a cliff hanger at the end of the season.
I'm just waiting for the last episode of Warrior to drop this week so I could binge the season lol

Need to get back on track with Fargo, only about half way through the season. Fargo is one of my favorite shows, but I can't lie, this season isn't grabbing me as much

Finished up Warrior. Killer ending that had enough closure but enough ability to keep going if they decide to do so.
Started Mr. Mercedes. I have heard different things about this. But it was a Stephen King based series and I like Brendan Gleason so I figured I would give it a shot. 2 episodes in and I dig it. Not sure if it goes off the rails or what but time will tell and it at least gives me something to watch for the time being.

Well poop

They always do this to my favorite shows. Banshee got the plugged pulled on it too early as well

yeahhhhh..... Banshee could have gone at least 2 or 3 more seasons and had a better wrap up..... BUT.... if enough people show they are willing to sign up to HBOMAX to see Warrior then a 3rd season could happen since they would be in a subscription drive now.

MAX is getting all that Warner stuff, too. It'll be interesting to see how that pans out.

Max is doing first run movies same date they were supposed to hit the theater starting in January. At least, all Warner backed movies. That'll be interesting. I know they have Dune and Matrix 4 on the schedule, plus some others.

buh-bye theaters. Too bad you were sucking balls even without the pandemic.

not gonna lie.... I like going to the movies.... but it's only for some movies.... I don't need to go to a theatre to see a murder mystery or comedy... but a big action movie... fuck yeah.... the Mrs and I, before the pandemic, pretty much only went to the local IMAX theatre because we were able to buy our tickets online as well as reserve our seats which makes going so much more chill... plus they have a premium screen as well with nice Lazyboy type chairs and people bring your drinks and popcorn to you.... so the experience is part of the entire thing for me..... the regular multiscreen theatres here are stickily first come first serve with regards to seating so that meant getting there 45 minutes before the start and waiting.... fuck that shit lol
The real issue I see with straight to digital is going to be pirating..... once a movie is released digitally that's it, great copies are on the Torrent sites the following day... so I see profits dropping big time for movie makers

I only ever want to go to the theater for big action flicks, but those screenings tend to be filled with dipshits, talkers, screamers, phone fiddling loud eaters that make the whole experience nothing but fail.
I think it might surprise some how much people will be willing to pay for first run films in a good format. I get that some will pirate no matter what, but I'd think those folks were ALWAYS pirating things. I've always wanted a shot of same-day at home, and have always said I'd be willing to pay for it.
I guess we'll see this year how it plays out. Maybe I have too much faith in humanity. Not sure why I would after the past couple years, but I suppose there's still some hope buried in me somewhere.

honestly.... if they could almost guaranty 2 to 3 releases I would want to see ordinarily a year then I'd subscribe because that's more or less paying for itself.... that's how I view my Microsoft Game Pass subscription.... it's $120 a year and they have 1st day access to new A+ titles plus a crazy library to go back on, so it really pays for itself that way... in the last few months since I've signed up I've pretty much got more than the $120 in games

That's pretty much how we justify our HBO subscription. Lots of movies we want to see that we didn't care about going to the theater for. Viewed that way $15 a month more than pays for itself if you only watch one movie every other month. And we're doing a lot more than that.
We even bought a couple of the first runs they did this year on Prime for $20 to watch. Still cheaper than going to a theater.

yup.... even better if you have some friends over too....
but it's definitely going to be a major shift in the finances for the production studios.....
