My take is they throw camp in every once in a while to break up the level of seriousness that's underlying most of the drama and horror. And weirdness. By the time you get to the time travel/transport machine, the weirdness is astronomical.

It does grate a bit when they toss in an anachronous song here or there. That's seems unnecessary in the long run, but thus far I'm still enjoying it.

I was also cooking while watching it, and feel like I've missed some aspects of the plot that also make it harder for me to take the storyline seriously  I imagine I'll keep trying though. Not much good to watch I can find atm

We did managed to finish up the 100. That show was so up and down through the last seven seasons I'm not exactly sure why we toughed it out. I mean, when it was good it was REALLY good, but when it was bad it was. . . come to think of it, I think my wife and enjoyed heckling the hell out of it too much to stop. It was kinda sci-fi, kinda soap opera, kinda action adventure.

The main character was one of the more annoying female leads in all of history, yet somehow there was enough around her to make it worth watching. Some really interesting concepts explored on a surface level skim style that would be cool to deep-dive into for a meatier story. My guess is if I went poking around there's probably some great fan-fics out there. Probably tons more complete shit fan-fics exploring the lesbian relationships far deeper than they got on the show too.

I'll likely read the books at some point just to see how they contrast. Though that's after I get through my pile of science and history books I'm currently sifting through.

Worth a watch for light sci-fi, though be warned there's a few rough patches here or there.

wife and i started watching The Expanse ... sci fi show from several years ago, 4 seasons so far

its really good - i like it because its "believable" - no laser swords or guns - the space ships use rail guns and bullets. a good mix of action and politics between the factions (Earth vs Mars colony vs the Belters (Asteroid belt peeps)

my wife even likes it, and she usually hates sci fi stuff

Really excited for the new season. The books are even better.

I've been avoiding Schitt's Creek...

...3 episodes in, and I can't get enough

The Expanse is seriously good sci-fi/space-opera. Especially compared to most of the drivel being churned out as sci-fi TV these days.

Be warned G-Space, Schitt's Creek does taper off as you get deeper into it, but there's still lots of laughs to be had.

Doesn’t matter - it’s totally irrelevant, stupid comedy, and I’m absolutely loving the break from the real world.

Started the new season of Fargo. I really miss it when it's not on. Excellent first few episodes with an interesting cast and the usual quirky, dark streak of humor running through it.

Finished up Evil. Pretty cliffhanger'd ending. We'll see what happens next season. If there is one.

I found the first 2 episodes were great.... 3 dragged a bit but was still solid.... haven't looked at the most recent episode yet but looking forward to it.

This past week's episode of Supernatural. I mean, I get it, they love their quirky asides, but with only six more left it seemed pointless to drag that one out that long. Sure, it was funny, but come on. You're trying to kill god for fuck sake. Get on with it.

I appreciate the trippy/psychological vibes, but yeah it is pretty dragging

So it's been 9 months since I did a what am I watching.

Locke & Key - meh. I will give S2 a chance.
Fargo - I gots to have me some Fargo.
Avenue 5 - Hilarious with a capital H.
You - more of the same. It's getting old.
Curb Your Enthusiasm - Larry & JB are always funny.
Ozark - S3 was good. I suspect S4 will be the last.
The Mandalorian - I really liked it.
See - meh. Lost across the island.
Better Call Saul - S5 was good. I suspect 1 more season.
The Boys - S2 was as good as S1.
What we do in the Shadows - If you have not watched this, watch it next.
Narcos Mexico - Twas ok, Felix is a badass, but I think it's time to tell the stories of some of the other kingpins.
Raised By Wolves - thumbs up
Hunters - meh
A Series of Unfortunate Events - I enjoyed it.
Altered Carbon - S2 really sucked.
Umbrella Academy - I liked S2 more than S1. I think they are getting better and using what makes each character good.
Cursed - It was ok, but I'd rather S2 be entirely about Merlin and lose the whole Arthur subplot.
Ratched - Just started.
Russian Doll- I really enjoyed this show.
Afterlife S2 - I love the way that Ricky Gervais views the world.
Space Force - Is really funny.
Cobra Kai - It's time for Johnny to beat Danny's ass, unfortunately they might become friends.
Borgen - Political show about the first female Prime Minister of Denmark. It's pretty good. Although S3 is weaker than S1 and S2.
The Morning Show - definitely worth watching.
Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet - I wish every show had Cricket, Bruce Hornsby's cousin. Who knew F Murray Abraham is hilarious?
Ted Lasso - Very funny.
Intelligence - It's pretty funny.
Brave New World - It's really good and Jessica Findlay is sooo hot.
AP Bio - S3 was the funniest yet.
Hill Street Blues - I never saw it in the 80s, so I gave it a shot. I'm starting S5 currently. The guest star talent that was on this show is crazy.
Difficult People - I only watch an episode a week, that seems to be the right pace.
McMillions - This scheme was crazy.
Weird City - This show did not deserve to get cancelled. It is poignant and hilarious.
Dark - Definitely worth watching.
Upload - I liked it. I think S2 could be good.
The Durells in Corfu - Very witty British show set on a Greek isle in the 1930s.

What I'm looking forward to
:
The Mandalorian S2
Stranger Things S4
Picard - I wanted to get through everything else before I signed up for CBS.

Started The Unicorn with Walton Goggins and Rob Coddry. Feelgood dramedy (I know usually puke; but Goggins and Coddry are great) about a man who loses his wife and the ensuing upending of his life as he gets back to being single.

I usually make my wife watch all sorts of horror/crime/nerd sh!t. She doesn't complain and likes most of it. This is something a little less, um; gritty. And it's really good. Short episodes, just deep enough to give some feels but never too far away from being funny.

It is a decent show. I watched the first season - waiting on the second. Lightweight entertainment...

Yeah we have a couple of episodes left. It's a quick watch.

I've asked this before (perhaps); but has anyone on here watched Legion? We ended up watching Helstrom on Hulu which is some sort of Marvel side piece thing. It was decent. Little too many episodes and was kind of in the same-ish vein as Evil which we recently finished up. This got me thinking on what other graphic novel adjacent stuff was out there. Dan Stevens is great in everything he is in usually and this one always comes back up for me as something I think I want to watch.

The little girl on "Third Day" needs cunt-punched through the ceiling. Good grief what a little shit.

The show is getting super interesting now. The layers are starting to interweave and we're set up for a BIG blow-out in the finale. I didn't expect Jess to go full potato to the point she did, but frankly when she took off after Lu with the giant kitchen knife I was rooting for her to catch her. Fuck Lu (see my opening statement).

Last week's "The Vow" went full blown mind-fuck. It's like they've been tip-toeing around the crazy for weeks and then last week they just went, *KABLAM* LOOK AT MY DICK! That sick fuck literally set up shaming rituals for the women, ran by the men, obviously, where they didn't even allow them to use their names because that would "humanize" them. And then they encourage the men to scold the girls for any and everything. Like stupid shit like, "I don't like how she's not looking at me." :freak: WTF? And this was sold as a woman's empowerment thing?

Looking forward to this weeks where I believe they start to come up to date with when they took Keith down. What a fucking scumbag.
