Iron man 3 6/10 felt like was trolled afterwards. What a waste of a character after "the reveal".

Alien3 is a good movie. I prefer watching the non-studio raep version though nowadays. The first two were just so epic it's hard to follow that up, but I think Fincher did a good job with what he had, and could've done better had he had the allotted time to get it done RIGHT. They already set the release date for that flick before going into pre-production... it was kinda doomed from the onset.
Also, one day you'll realize Alien>Aliens...

Took me a while but I got there!

Alien>Aliens, but they are completely different genre movies to begin with. Both are epic goodness.
Oblivion: 7/10
It honestly wasn't that bad. The worst thing about it was that Tom Cruise was in it. He is the worst actor. Some predictable stuff, but I was entertained in some way, so that is something.

That statement is exactly what it should be.

thenakedarab wrote:Saw Star Trek: Into Darkness this morning, and I've got to say holy fucking shit.

Seriously, I think this is the best Star Trek movie EVER. It paid fitting homage to the originals, but surpassed them all except one IMO. Fittingly enough, the only one out of the originals that may be it's equal is The Wrath of Khan.
I'll also say this is the best action/sci-fi/superhero movie I've seen not just this year, but possibly since the original Star Wars trilogy. If Abhrams can do this kind of magic with Star Wars: Episode VII, then I will not be disappointed.
There are very few movies I would pay to see again at the theaters, let alone pay to see again in IMAX 3D. This is one of them. Hell, if I had the money I'd see it every day until it stopped playing in the theaters.
Also, I completely disagree with all the critics that have so far said this was not as good as the first. I think it paid more homage to the original Star Trek, and at the same time was visually more stunning with better, and more prolific action scenes.
I agree with this entire post. Great movie. Even better if you are an old school Star Trek fan like I am.

Ted 4.5/10
Wasn't nearly as funny as everyone made it out to be. A couple of decent chuckles scattered throughout but not enough sustained laughter for a comedy.

So, like pretty much every comedy that's been put out for the last 10-15 years?

I liked Ted, but I typically like Seth McFarland stuff. Well, not the Cleveland Show that's just terrible.
I've mostly given up on comedies. They just usually aren't funny to me anymore. Or I'm too picky.

This ^. Once she was revealed to be Dr. Marcus I thought to myself, ok, does that make "Harrison" Khan? When they started talking about him being genetically engineered, I was like OK, he has to be Kahn. Then, when he revealed his name to Kirk inside I was screaming "FUCK YEAHHHH!!!!!!!"
hahahhahaa... I had the uncontrollable urge just to scream KHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN when he said his name... but, there were far too many strangers in the cinema at the time..lol

Sling Blade - 8/10
Never actually had seen this before and NF put it on Instant so I watched. Pretty good all around. I didn't know BBT wrote and directed as well so that upped it a bit for me. Seeing Dwight Yoakum in movies is always ftmfw and that kid from Friday Night Lights is good as well. John Ritter was pretty lulz too. Good flick, would watch again.

Star Trek: Into Darkness - 8.5/10; I still think I just a tiny bit prefer the first one, but that's just preference. They're about on par with me. Excellent movie though.
Zero Dark Thirty - 6/10; weird, disjointed, not much of a story. DNW.

Star Trek: Into Darkness (7.5/10). Would have been 8.5 or 9 through the first two acts, but it ended stupidly.
Iron Man 3 (7/10). Great popcorn flick. It's weird how physically fragile they made Iron Man in this one. Seems like every time he got hit, pieces of his armor went flying, he spent half the movie with half his suit falling off, and bad guys were ripping his extra suits to shreds like tinfoil. It was a changeup from how invulnerable he was in the 2nd IM movie as well as Avengers.

Yeah the story at the end of ST:ID just felt too predictable as it went on. I realize it's a partial reboot/remake, but still.
Oh, and actually, because I drank a lot this weekend, I watched:
The Fast & The Furious, 2Fast 2Furious, The Fast & The Furious - Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious, and Fast 5.
I also watched Transformers 1-3.
Yep, was that kinda weekend lol.

Oh, also watched Black Hawk Down last night too- 9/10; favorite war movie by fkn far. Ridley Scott at the helm, stellar all-star cast, not much not to love.
