I found that the system works well for the most part but in some venues with dirty power etc there were some issues with noise and feedback with the PS output transformer being in proximity to your head's OT. I think having it all in one box makes it a bit iffy for live use.

So if I had to do it again, I'd probably go the old school way and slave the amp into a load box and take an isolated line out into the effects and power amp. It seems like that's still the way to go.

The SLO sounds killer though and the new ones have a great effects loop so it's definitely a simpler way to go.

That is very good to know about the power station. What kind of power amp would you suggest I look at for something like this?

Kinda weird to me I have two half stacks now. Maybe I’ll just buy an Eventide H90 and run a wet/dry rig.

Thanks dude! SLO is interesting cause it’s super beefy and has good teeth, but also kind of compressed (in a good way) and smooth. It’s weird to me cause usually when an amp has that grind up top it’s not too smooth sounding. Somehow has a little of both.

All I know is this is by far the most effortless playing rig I’ve had to date.

Plus fuckin’ snakeskin man.

That’s exactly it. Quit drinking for a year and a half. Had a couple beers since then but still the most sober I’ve been since I was like 15. Kinda boring at first TBH.

It's a whole new world with clear eyes. I've been off the sauce for over ten years. Although living and dealing with dads' Alzheimers sometimes makes me want to go back

Mine is right now , but coming back! About to have a house to jam in after years of apartments. 3 Les Pauls deep now, but I still love my Telecaster!

Honestly, a SS power amp would do. Crown, Matrix etc. Because at that point you just need clean headroom to run the effects. You don't want any color or "tone" in there. That's coming from your Marshall. Eddie ran a HH mosfet power amp. Recently, Matrix amps were popular for this kind of rig.

If you want to run a tube power amp, Fryette has a LX-II power amp that has a linear mode that's like a hi-fi amp.

But IMHO anything loud and clean will do.

Another thing to consider with this type of rig is once you crank your superbass into the load, it doesn't "know" it's being loaded down and it will feedback like you had the amp wide open in the room, even if the final stage volume (from the power amp) is low or even silent.
So when you're playing small stages, plan to keep the head out of your pickups line of sight. I learned that lesson the hardest possible way

If you want to do a wet/dry rig, I highly recommend the Bray line out box. It goes between your superbass and dry cab and gives you a very clean line for the wet rig.

The BCB's are back? I would say that I wore out the copy of your original LP, but my copy is digital. Interested in hearing the next round!

That SLO sounds awesome. Had the SLO30 but didn't get along with Overdrive channel belive it or not. Too woofy for me even with an SD1. Using a SYN-1 with the SLO mod into a PS2 most of the time now and love it. IDK.

First and foremost, take care of the only thing you have absolute control over: Your mind and body.

It all starts right there.

FWIW I've never hit any sort of issues like that with my PS....and I've had it since the first pre-order run :irish:

Hell it's gotta be close to 10 years now and I've never even had to change a tube in it

Yeah to be clear, I didn't have any issues with the PS itself. But I did have some issues with the multi-amp rig on some venues. It could very well have been my fault, or maybe cables, grounding etc... I am not sure. It's hard when you gig with a local, original band like I do. It's usually 4-5 bands/night, 45 minutes sets, 5 minutes changeovers etc... in that type of scenario, it can be hard to to troubleshoot a complex rig in the heat of the moment. So I've been trying to keep my rigs as simple as possible these days. And I always like to have the "nuclear" option, which is to unplug everything and just go straight into the amp. Which was hard to do with a NVM amp without the PS.

But I don't want to give anyone the impression I was bashing the PS. It is a great system overall and did work as advertised for the most part.

I always expected Texas blues / sleazy rock from Shea, This is a huge surprise to hear him play VH. That rig is awesome and sounded exactly like a rock amp should.

PS Don't sell the Superbass

Creamback 75s are the truth and the light. Also sound great with Plexi style amps. My favorite speaker although I do love a quad G12M25s in a 4x12.

Did you get rid of that (Welagen?) D-clone?
