Yeah it's GBs on top and V30s on the bottom. The Friedman arrangement. These GBs initially sounded awful with this amp, but now they smoothed out. The weird thing is the Marshall sounded good from the start and barely changed after use. But the Mesa changed radically, which is baffling. I wonder if there were some specific frequencies that required more break-in?

I’ve had that happen. I had a bit where I tried an amp with Creambacks and it just wasn’t working. I then hooked up rhe Metro to the Creambacks and abused them for a while. Tried the other amp again and it was way better. Don’t know if it was my ears just acclimating back to the CBs at high volumes or if the Metro set everything back right. Either way it worked.
