Leon Todd's video sounds really good.

I'll definitely buy one eventually.

I have had one here for a few days and it really, really feels great to play as well as sounding good.
Well done and effective, Friedman did a great job with this!

Is the boost clean or does it have a low-cut?

I think the boost is clean but you can add a low cut with the tight switch.

The only thing that is holding me back from getting one immediately is I recently traded the BluGuitar Amp1 Iridium back to my old Mercury (same guy, changed his mind lol) and it sounds close to this, is about the same size, does DI really well and also can drive a cab like a real amp. So I don't know if the Friedman would be an improvement on the Amp1. I was really hoping for an analog DI out tbh. Because my experience with IRs is that they sound good on clips or recordings but live I run into the same issues that I have with modeling, albeit to a lesser degree. But I guess I could disable the IR and run into a Palmer for live gigs.

I think that if I didn't have a portable rig, I'd buy this today instead of the Amp1. But I already have an Amp1, it's paid for and it sounds great. So I am not completely convinced to drop $500 on one right this moment.

I am definitely interested but it's not a must-have right now, given that the Amp1 does a lot of the same things (and more).

I will buy one eventually though. Maybe after selling some stuff or when they show up in the used market.

I believe for an out to go to a poweramp with no ir coloring, you use the fx send to go to the powersmp/cab - never mind I think I misread what you were saying

yeah that's one way to do it. You can also disable the IR on the software. Either way works. :thu:

Yeah that's what I was wondering. How it compares to the amp1 stuff? Both sound great, but with the amp1 it's an entire amp in a relatively similar size.

Damn it, I bought it.The danger of working at a dealer

Sure... I have to test things so I can answer questions for customers, for um... Science (right, ha).
I have had it a week and couldn't take it back. The thing just feels right.

I did a bunch of tests comparing it to my Syn 30 with an HBE and the BE Dlx modules
and this thing sits right in the middle of those two. In other words, stupid close and certainly all
Friedman.

I did mess with other IRs and that worked great. Gonna keep playing to find an
open back one for the 1st channel to get a little more open Fender bounce.
Though that channel does a great Plexi as is.

I also switched out the Psvane preamp tubes. They have plenty of gain, but I find
them a little gritty in the highs vs my old Chinese stash.

I think I'll get one soon. My birthday is next week and I've been dropping serious hints to Kimmi that this is the gift I want

I tried to get Cole to explain to me exactly what this is but he told me to STFU and go play the SLO.

Billy, I saw that Chuck Levins has them in stock. Might give you a chance to try one out before you buy.

He's correct.

It's a tube preamp with an IR loade.

But again he's correct.

Oh cool. I'll stop by tomorrow. I don't know what kind of test rig they have for this though. I'd think I'd have to plug into a PA or studio monitor to hear it properly.
