The Afterneath was $154 shipped after tax, so not bad at all. If it can also do things that the DM does, I can let the DM go. We'll see. I do love the simplicity of the DM, though.

NOTHING does what the DM does. NOTHING. (The Afterneath, although cool, certainly doesn't do what the DM does.)

ask me how I know. I spent big bucks trying to recreate what the DM does with fancier stuff. (Avalanche Run. Timeline + Flint. Blackhole + Rose. LVX+Mercury 7. Collider. Etc.)

The DM has a sound that can't be replicated. You just have to live with its limitations. (no tap tempo. No tone control. not stereo. no presets. etc.)

I doubt I will buy an expression pedal but I’ll keep it in mind if I think it’ll be useful. This is really just for funsies lol.

Most excellent

It really is one of the trippiest out there I don't think you will be dissapointed

Like Gene said tho, it will have basically 0 overlap with the DM. Best to keep both :D

I have no complaints about the DM, but let's be honest about how I am using it here lol. All knobs at noon. That is it. I never change the settings lol. So if the Afterneath can do something within the ball park of kind of a standard delay, that will cover those needs. I also don't need or want anything fancy. The DM and Julia are my only 2 FX pedals. I have 1 OD pedal and a noise gate. And a tunerr/wireless. You definitely are using these things more "appropriately" than I ever will lol.

Line 6 M5/M9 particle verb setting and add whatever else you like. Not a Line 6 fan but these units are amazing. They added it to the Helix also and I am sure other devices in their lineup.

Afterneath doesn't do any standard delay, it is not a subtle pedal  extreme psychedelic reverbs with octaves and harmonies and sacred artifacts from the ancient ones

I've been thinking about buying a M9. The effects are decent and it's a good bang for the buck at current used prices.

M series is great, and still in production too which is crazy, and the particle verb is indeed a cool one. glad I have access to all those FX again with the HD bean I just got

It's kind of funny, a year or 2 ago there was a run on M5/m9s because Trey Anastasio just added a couple to his setup. They're still in production but were out of stock for a while with the whole supply chain shit. People were selling used ones for like triple the cost of new for a minute there :idk:

If you’re gonna be around this weekend I can load up a huge box of shit and come over for a few hours.

Also, coincidentally, a Mu-Tron Bi-Phase should be delivered tomorrow.

Also have the black fountain and about 20 or more other delays. And a Chase Bliss Gen Loss. I’ve been busy picking up funky stuff!

Even so!!

I thought he wasn't making anymore of the Bi Phase IIs and it was like a limited thing but I see there's a demo unit in stock....

Looking forward to your review. I've wanted one of these since the first time I heard Dragonaut by Sleep

Damn! That sounds awesome. We're heading to South Florida tomorrow morning to visit my stepdad for the day, and then I have band practice on Sunday. We have a fill in bass player joining us for a show next month, and it will be our first practice with him, trying to get him up to speed on the songs. Pretty busy weekend, sadly lol. All I really wanna do is play Diablo 4 like a crackhead lol. But I won't have time for that!

It would be really cool if while you're rehearsing the new bass player you only use space tone so he doesn't know where the fuck he's at

I've had the Afterneath for close to 2 weeks. It sounds pretty cool. Pretty much exactly what I was looking for. But having it plugged in through the loop, and turned off, it fucks with my tone super hard! To the point that I thought maybe a tube went bad in the amp lol. Tried unplugging each of my pedals one at a time, and turned out to be the Afterneath. Any one else experience this? I certainly can't leave it plugged in all the time, at the very least, which is really annoying.

How bizarre... I have never experienced any tone suck with mine on any of my amps :idk:

The EQD stuff can be picky with loops. If you're using on the clean channel only try it our front.

Tried it out front, and it fucks with the sound some there, though not as much. But yeah, this is not going to work sadly. It sounds super cool. So I guess I need something that does this kind of sound but doesn't fuck with my distortion sound when plugged in and off.

Looking at the Old Blood Dark Star. Seems pretty cool. There are too many that actually seem pretty cool lol.

lol nice.

I ended up comparing the DM and the Afterneath, and vastly prefer the DM. It's different, but in a way that I like more, funnily enough. I've been also looking at the Old Blood Dark Star. Seems cool.
