But maybe he has a bit of a fire to come out with something a step up considering he’s basically the last remaining dude, besides Lombardo of course. But he’s not really continuing the Slayer sound much. And supposedly Bostaph is the drummer for this new project. And paraphrasing. But recently King was talking about how he showed some friends parts of the new stuff and he said their response was “This sounds more Slayer than Slayer.” Hahah. Or sumthin like that… Ol Kerry… Maybe he was referring to it sounding more old school Slayer than the last incarnation.
Cause as much as people tend to rip on Kerry, and it’s arguable Jeff was always the better songwriter, Kerry was no slouch at all. Some of my favorite songs Kerry wrote. Jeff seemed to write the all time classics. But kerry wrote some of the most brutal stuff. So I got a bit of hope he’s got a little left in the tank
Yeah for sure. I've always liked Kerry's playing and riffs. Bostaph on the drums is good news too.
Kerry does stick his foot in his mouth all the time though, so I will take any of his "descriptions" with a grain of salt for now and just wait for the record lol.
As for modern Slayer, tbh I kind of checked out after Divine Intervention, which was what 30 years ago... after that, I still listened to the new albums when they come out and some of the stuff is cool but I can't say any of the albums after DI have stuck with me...

There are a couple of later albums I have to listen to in pieces because to sit and listen to the whole thing is literally painful, not in the fun way most metal is painful, but in the "ow my ears" way. And I've always been a "play the whole album" type of listener with most every band I've ever enjoyed at all.
The biggest problem for me is at some point, Tom switched to YELLING EVERY SINGLE LINE IN EVERY SINGLE SONG. and it's exhausting. Their Bostaph era on material just isn't that great and it's kind of forced aggression without the intensity.

Mave, that one time - most of his signature guitars are pretty cool Kerry King Zakk Wylde Rob Cavestany
The only one to really get it right, and only for himself, was Brian May, and he had his dad help him his homework.
well.. for starters 4 people is far from "most guitarists". Most signature models are just a personal variation of a regular guitar and there are plenty of cool signature models out there. When it comes to unique guitar shapes, it is pretty difficult for anyone these days - player or designer. IMHO this is not worse than the Strandberg guitars or any of these "new" designs out there that many seem to like. So idk, if there is a market, why not?
