Don't shit on my thread, dude. I had my anti-tv phase too. Not anymore.
Legit question, since I know you're a Dad as well; how do you unwind at the end of the day? I can't play guitar or drink, so I have to watch tv.

When I get home I change into shorts and a t-shirt, take a couple tokes of the devil's lettuce and pop a beer. That's step 1.
Then I try to let myself get whisked away by whatever my kids are into at the moment. Once I've given them all a chunk of time and attention and dinner is done I'll try to work on music in one form or another.. whether it's guitar, writing techno, mixing, or watching tutorials on writing techno and mixing. My favorite podcasts get sprinkled in.
I have a REALLY hard time sitting in front of a TV these days. It hurts me inside to do it, and the sheer quantity of garbage on TV repulses me. I'm literally offended that they think this crap is entertaining, and they make it obvious that they don't care and just expect us to keep swallowing garbage cause it's what we're used to. "Shut up and eat your gruel like a good boy Mikey."
I be mad hatin' yo

The second Walking Dead show was actually way better than the original until they started crossing characters over trying to boost the original's appeal. What they didn't understand is that you can't mix garbage into food and end up with better garbage. You just end up with ruined food.
The original Walking Dead is about five seasons too deep at this point. The best thing to ever come out of it was the bad lip reading dudes making music videos out of it.
Carl Poppa and the one where the Governor is singing, "I always wanted a wookie, 'til I found out they weren't real, thanks a lot lucas, ba boopity boopy bum, ba boopity boopy do." Both crack me up every damn time.

You - First season was brilliant. Second was laughably stupid
Stranger Things - First season was brilliant. 2 was meh. 3 was pandering.
Dark - So amazing then not.
Oz - So amazing then basically a prison version of The Young and The Restless
The Office - No Michael, no Office
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt - I was like neat! But only for like 5 episodes.
Black Mirror - The best show of all time until the last season. This one bummed me out bad.
Btw... Ozark is way better than Breaking Bad, IMO.

First season was pain, but my wife fell in love with it. By this latest season I was actually enjoying it. Ruthy tossing a bitch off the top of the river boat was bast.

Yeah, The 2nd season of you was a circus. I still enjoyed it, but it's getting more than far fetched.
Stranger Things S3 did kind of suck. I agree. S1 was absolutely terrifying and amazing. S2 was somewhere in between. I can only guess what season 4 will be like given the current trajectory.

Most shows that don’t have a story arch planned out in advance go to shit after the 1st or 2nd season.
I pretty much agree with all the shows listed. GoT started to suck ass the minute it overtook the books.
One show I don’t think I saw listed here was Sons of Anarchy. While it was never the pinnacle of Television, it got particularly bad in the last few seasons. The series finale gives Dexter’s a run for its money in the terrible department.

Ah, SoA and their utterly hilarious idea of what Irish homes look like. They must have hit on a great wholesale rate on doilies and 14" CRT televisions

Sons of Anarchy was stupid from the start. Entertaining, but stupid beyond all belief. It was bro-vision for bros and never purported to be more than that even if the creator was trying to claim it was inspired by Shakespeare. Willy Shakes would have watched it with the rest of us, and probably be just as entertained, but he'd have freaked the fuck out if he'd heard it was supposed to be a modern take on one of his tales.
At least they made good use of Walton Goggins when he was there.

Dexter was the first thing that jumped to mind. Fuck that fucking show made me fucking angry.
GoT was close second. I was hugely invested by the time the 2nd to last season started, then HOLEY FUCKING MONEY GRAB.

The Man Show - To this day, I have never forgiven Joe Rogan for killing that show
Night Court
The X-Files
Prime Time Wrestling - I’m talking about the segments between the matches (‘86-91 were absolutely hilarious, thanks to Bobby “The Brain” Heenan)
I’m not sure I can list Northern Exposure, because that last season wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t that great, either
The Boondocks

Holy hell this. Good god did that last season blow chunks. It's like they just gave up and went full potato cakes just to make sure the legacy was tarnished completely. Gawd damn.

Anybody that's spent serious highway time on a bike knows that urge. Granted, I know that the symbolism rubs a bit wrong, but there've been a lot of times I've wanted to just toss my hands back and let the wind carry me where it may.
Of course, I'm in South Dakota where no roads have any curves and you won't see another car for forty-five minutes to an hour on back highways, so I have that option.
