Youngbl00d - did you actually get the pop filter from Monoprice, or does it just look like the one I posted? I was really surprised about how nice the thing seems to be. But then again, Monoprice does have a lot of really good quality stuff (including heavy-duty guitar / mic cables) at seriously great prices. That, and they're in Rancho Cucomonga, which is only about 20 minutes from my home / work - great will-call counter with a lot of latest stuff on display.

nah i got mine way back in the day, but its similar. same neck and clasp and all.
it would be a good buy if you needed one.
some people like the metal screens better, only because you can wash them. something to think about

Thanks again guys for popping in and sharing your knowledge on this topic. I feel a lot more confident about being on the right track.
Also, it's all in perfect timing for mine and Ruiner's incoming rap battle.

Here's a quick tip...
Keep your mouth as close to the mic as possible without touching it or the pop (puff) screen.
You can position yourmouth slightly off axis to help prevent breath pops.
When you are close to the mic, you pick up more low end. The further you move away from the mic, the more trebly you will sound and you will pick up more room reflections. As simple as this is, it took me a long time to figure out why my vocal recordings sounded so tinny.
I'm waiting for Waves Audio to put their Vocal Rider plug in on sale. It automatically adjusts the volume levels to keep the vocals even sounding. It will basically do what a compressor does without killing the harmonics and dynamics of the vocal.
I'm sure everyone can't wait to hear clips of your crooning!

I was gonna rig something with my wife's but if I can't pay $15 to get a proper puff screen then I'm just sad.
