I always see them as being motorhead worship. Should be good. Can't wait. I'll give a report if I stay sober enough to remember things haha!

Every band is Motohead worship

Except this one.

Don't know if these count, but I've been listening to Trouble, The Sword & Fireball Ministry a lot lately.

This may be death metal, but this song is VERY doom inspired, and simply one of the best songs ever.

I'm a huge Trey fanboi. I've seen MA 4 times and pretty much love everything they've done. THeres quite a few slower songs that are awesome as shit... This falls in to the really grindy kind of shit that fits in this category...

Not that I'm complaining about the Death/Doom stuff, but to bring things back to a more traditional doom vibe, I think these guys are fuckin awesome:

^ Not bad. I loved their first record, but the other stuff (Stormbringer/II) didn't really do anything for me. Interesting how they sound basically the same even though it's different guitarist/vocalist.

Black pyramid was the band that got me into the whole doom/retro rock stuff. I could literally listen to them all day. I saw them perform this not too long ago, and I can't wait for the new album. They actually have a side project going on called "the scimitar". It's the bassist and guitarist/singer with a different drummer. Same style music. I guess BP's drummer was kind of holding them back from playing out s lot, so they made a side project. They don't have anything recorded, but it sounds promising.

So now we're venturing into post-metal territory? I've got no problem with that.

Loving the fuzzy riffs in the new HIM album. Some great slow riffage.
