But kidding aside, yeah, I thought he overreacted a bit in the religion/philosophy thread, but I didn't know he went off in other, unrelated threads as well. Mojo sent... Hope he gets himself together & makes it back here.

haha. We don't play Djent. Just remember a bunch of folks talking about how Djent guitar kinda sounded like whale farts, thus the name. We are kind of more a cross between old aerosmith and some govt mule and a bit of stryper.

poor craig. he really is a cool dude, and he knows a shitload about gear and whatnot. he has been known to take a good ribbing and come out fine. he's into some sparkly finishes and i always tell him his guitars look like bass boats. that said, he can really fly off the handle sometimes though, quite randomly even. perhaps he will cool down and re join one day.

somewhat related to this thread - we have a membership level that completely hides the General Discussions forum and gives the user access only to The Gear Forums, Classifieds etc...

I can individually assign that type of membership to anyone who is offended by religious/political stuff, without having to fuck up the party for the other users.

If Craig had approached me to talk about the situation, I would have offered it to him and it would probably have solved the problem completely, but he simply asked me to delete so obviously I wouldn't argue with that.

Buy FYI, if anyone needs this type of special accommodations, we're prepared for it and it doesn't affect the rest of the forum at all.

Thanks. It is cool. I really respect people's religious/political views and don't want anyone to be offended by content on that forum. On the other hand, I would never close the forum just because some people get offended by it. So that seems to be a good compromise. I don't advertise it much because I HOPE that most people would be ok with simply not going to the General forums if it's offensive. But the feature is there, anyone who would like to see the Gear Forums only, can PM me and I will switch their access level real quick.
