My other fave is the Zakk Wylde one. It's not a true wah per se, it was a wide sweep that's great for coloring solos.
I'd like to find a ZW wah for cheap & just rehouse it in a Vox enclosure. You can get non-working vox v847's for next to nothing.
The ZW sounds badass..but I cant get past the looks of it lol.

Although I've never been much of a Dimebag fan I've been using his signature wah for 10 years. If you don't like to tweak it's a nightmare, but the Dimebag wah can do so much. It literally took me years to get it dialed in but was worth the effort.

YEah. Those Dime wahs are cool once you figure them out. Especially for a man who plays higher gain kinda stuff. They are a bitch to get dialed in, but when you got it where you want it, it's smooth sailing.
Did some wah Wankery last night & was riffin some Deliverance by COC
Wow wow weew wow, wow wow, weew wow lol.

I mainly use the Buddy Guy Signature Crybaby which I sometimes swap for a Zvex Wah Probe. Both pretty cool :thu:
I was recently thinking about buying the RMC picture wah because I heard a local guitarist use one and I loved his wah-tone. Not in a big GAS mood atm though...
i mainly use a Morley Classsic wah. i have an Ibanez WH-10 but it's a pain in the ass to turn on and off so it doesn't get much use. use it mainly for leads but i get in a 70s porno soundtrack mood occasionally and just let it rip all over everything.

I like doing that some times. Especially when running 2 amps, with one amp run with no effects.

Is there a batch of bad JC wahs out there? some sort of glitch from the factory? Seems like I read some where else that a guy was having trouble with his (?)

I think there may have been. The toe-down/treble pot stopped working on mine. Now that I have the new one, I don't think it was working properly from the get go. This one has way more range and sweep. It can be really dark or it can cut your head off.

A good friend of mine has trouble with two within a 3 week period. Shame since it's a great sounding wah.

Yeah. I had one of the 1st runs of the ZW 44 OD's. It had a bad switch. I think there were several that ended up being that way.
Usually Dunlop stuff is bomb proof, but now & then, the QC isnt so great

someday, I'd like to get a "top logo" Vox King Wah. They have a different inductor in em than the one I have. They're out there, but you gotta look for 'em. Would like to have an italian vox wah too.

Seen one of those top logos on Ebay not too long ago. Buy it now for $1500.00!! I was able to score an all original Clyde McCoy for $425 a few years back. You can't touch them for that now a days though

$1500? Holy sh*t!!
Ive seen them for under $300. I missed one for $150 several mos ago.
That one musta been a 68 or so model (had the more rounded enclosure). Some early / mid 70's King Wahs had the top logo, but the regular "thomas design" base.
The regular King Wahs seem common & still can be had for cheap.
I'd like to have a Clyde McCoy, or a good clone

I'm a big fan of my wah, a DOD FX-17. Just a teeny guy but it has a few things I really dig, mainly:
- Heel switch instead of toe switch, it makes turning it on initially less of a screechfest. - Trimpots on the front that let you tune it really deep. I'd equate it to the Dunlop BB535 wah that Adam Jones plays, only with a farther range on the treble side. - Diminutive size which takes up next to no room on my board. It's about as wide and tall as my WH-1s treadle. - Option to turn into a mini volume pedal via a little push button on the side.
And they go for like $50-60 used. It's a steal for such a killer little pedal.
I've been using the Bad Horsie wah since it came out in the mid 90's. Same pedal and shit. I use it most for solos, but not in a traditional wah fashion, I only use it to open up my bends and give them a more screaming tone, very much like Zakk uses his. I'd love to try the ZW wah btw, but I am too used to the "auto-on" function on the Morley.

I used to do that quite a bit. I liked doing it mixed with a chorus (set sorta mild..not too much effect) . That seemed to enhance the "sweet spot" of the wah. At the time I was using an old school Boss Chorus Ensemble. (another "wish I'd kept it" pedal)

Agreed the trimpots are the trick on this one! Very nice when tuned in right!
I love wah. Always have, always will. I currently have a chi-wah-wah on my board but I own quite a few different ones. Here's a song from my project named Motorboat. The lead guitar features a Bad Horsey 2. http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=12104278
