The Hunger Games - 8.5/10
I've been putting this one off for a while. Based on the previews I was thinking it was going to be kind of a pussified, overrated ripoff of The Running Man, but I was wrong. The acting was good: Donald Sutherland and Woody Harrelson are faves of mine and I like Elizabeth Banks. The main protagonist and the kid from R.V.

weren't bad, either. The story spent enough time developing the setting and characters without wasting time and there was a decent amount of action involved. The story was incredibly linear, but that is alright sometimes.
Chud 2 - 5/10
Selfpwnt. The first Chud was a chud and Chud 2 was equally chuddy. It was pretty bad and not really even in a cheesy '80s scary movie way, because there wasn't enough fake gore to even laugh at. Other than the one dude's righteous mullet in the movie, there wasn't much worth noting. I was even drunk while watching this and was left disappointed.

Watched the total recall remake again, still sticking with my rating from before.

The Trouble with Bliss - 0/10. Dunno how I got through the whole thing. Nothing happened. I grabbed because I like Michael C. Hall in Dexter and he was good in Six Feet Under too. Maybe I was too tired to understand an underlying meta-story/theme going on, but it was 1.5 hours about a putz bumbling around and then taking two baby steps towards getting his shit together at the very end.

Prometheus-
Uh, no. Terrible science, large jumps in logic, and calling it's philosophical elements ham-fisted is an insult to both ham and fists. I also didn't care much for the cast. Fassbender and Theron were solid, as was Alba, but Rapace was ill-suited, and Marshall-Green was... well, he was saddled with a pretty terrible character, so I'm not sure if I should be yelling at him or the material. Maybe both. Pearce as an old man was also not good. Why not just get an actual old man? It's not like there aren't any of them around. He looked like a young man in old makeup, not an old man. Takes you out of the scene pretty hard when you're looking at the makeup, not the character.
It, uh, looked good?
Not worth the watch. If you want to see someone grapple with their humanity in space, watch Sam Rockwell in Moon.

As an Alien fan, I agree. I go back and forth with this one. I like it because it's in the Alien world, so that gives it points. Plus it FINALLY somewhat explains the Space Jockey from Alien. I hate it because the only good thing about it was the Captain's character. He was the only one i liked and/or thought made any sense. Oh... and it was pretty.

Wow, Prometheus sucks. Still not through it yet, so I'll rate it at the end, but holy fuck this is terrible. Why would you attempt to have a cerebral film written by guys who apparently can't even string a basic plot together?
It got a little better by the end as it started to make a little bit of sense. (Just a little.)
And then it got really stupid again.....really stupid.
I swear the music was all sampled from ST:tNG & DS9.
I'm thinking.....4/10? It could have been worse, but it SHOULD have been so much better and could have been with a half coherent plot that didn't involve characters making the moronic choice EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Wow.

Iron Man 3 as well.
As a cousin of mine put it: way to gimmicky. Good overall and wasn't disappointed but by the way the trailer looked I wasn't expecting what I saw.
6.5/10

Watched a few things this weekend...
House at the end of the Street - 2/10; not even Jen Lawrence could save this disaster. Made 0 sense and yeah was just overall r3tard strong.
Cabin in the Woods - 8.5/10; is now on NF Instant, and is just a great movie with plenty of lulz. Is a great one to rewatch.
Of Mice and Men (Sinise and Malkovich version) 7/10; Steinbeck is my fave American author and this was a pretty good version of his most popular book.
Being John Malkovich 8/10; Great movie, great performances, just so fuggin' out there it's a good flick. Multiple Charlie Sheen cameos I'd forgotten about ftmfw.

Oblivion 7.5/10
Certainly better than I expected. Sort of Wall-E meets Independence Day.

I felt the same way about it. Overall, I thought it was well done, but certainly not potential best picture material like people were saying.

Watched Red Lights again. I won't re-rate it, but things are more obvious the second time round.

Iron man 3.... it was pretty entertaining and as a Superhero action type movie it was pretty damn good and worth seeing in theaters IMO... as a kinda sorta fan boy I was let down by some things which I won't really go in to to avoid spoilers but some I understand I THINK I see where they are going with others I dunno what they were thinking of... time will tell I guess...

Django Unchained 7/10
Good but not great. As usual, Tarantino coaxes some great performances out of his actors and I always enjoy his casting (Tom frickin's Wopat?!?!?). But it just felt like something was missing. I enjoyed Inglorius Basterds much more.
