For the ol' hack and myself the 2nd dose was no worse than the 1st, which was nothing. I had a tetanus shot last month that was 10x worse than both of the covid shots combined.
My parents (aged 75 and 76) both have had their second doses as well with no side effects other than a sore arm.

Anybody who tells you that is selling you a fantasy. The process of cellular senescence (aging) and the formation cancer cells are bounded together as flip sides of the same coin. We might be able to dial in a happy medium between long life and DELAYED formation of cancer such that cancer becomes less a cause of death, but we’re stuck with cancer as we are stuck with aging.

Until we unlock negative senescence and become reptilian overlords

LinkYou can still donate blood (starting 2 weeks after your vaccine), but not convalescent plasma. They don't provide a reason.

Just like them adding more face diapers to people.
So, found out my daughter and I are asymptomatic carriers of the virus and thankfully the wife recovered from her exposure. Still getting her smell and taste back.

Got my first Pfizer yesterday. Arm feels like it got punched.
A little voice inside told me this was a mistake. Gotta be on the same page with your wife though.

Has anyone figured out if there are any reasons to choose Moderna over Pfizer or vice-versa?
Texas has opened up to everyone so I'm going to proceed with one or the other but not sure if there's any reason one might be better than another.

J&J is the one that is different, I believe. It's more of a standard vaccine - the others are the new mRNA stuff.

Yeah I'd choose the J&J vaccine if I could. Mostly because it's a single shot

The other 2 are pretty much the same.

Got my 1st tomorrow, hoping I might finally get rid of this headache I've had for over a year, probably end up feeling worse

Not getting it. My wife got both doses. 2nd kicked her ass. She had Moderna.
I also don't the fly shot either. I have no issues with vaccines, etc. Not an anti-vax'r at all. I figure, everyone else in the world around me got it, I should be safe as a kitten. The only way I' consider is if they require vaccine cards at Allegient stadium... I am a seat owner! LOL!

Yeah miss me with that novel mRNA technology and novel lipid nanoparticle delivery system. It's funny how this is being promoted as the vaccine when it's THE VACCINES. As if they're all the same and won't have differing effects and consequences. Drives me crazy how everything has been framed.
Under any other circumstance these vaccines wouldn't be approved until 2023. They are still currently not approved by the FDA. So... yeah. Not saying I'll wait until 2023 but I'm sitting tight to decide which of the vaccines I might go for when I'm comfortable.
Meanwhile, vitamin D, quercetin and zinc, and healthy living will have to do.

Got my second Moderna shot yesterday. I am a bit achy and stiff today. But nothing too bad.
