I imagine that's pretty much how low level minor league hockey (and most sports probably) still are today.

Great movie.

Started to watch that the other day but didn't get very far. Is it worth trying again?

For a little indie film, I thought it was well done.

An intern for a Seattle magazine wants to do an article on a guy who posted a want ad for a partner to help him time travel. I don't want to spoil it, but its good. The characters were very well written, and the story was compelling. Sort of like Garden State, but not as heavy.

The Reanimator - Incomplete

I watched it for 30 minutes and turned it off due to boredom. I had heard good things and it was one of the only 3+ star horror movies left on Netflix that I haven't seen. All I have to say is that I guess it must be a cult movie, because I couldn't get into it whatsoever.

The Prophecy - 6.5/10

Kind of meh. I love Christopher Walken and Eric Stoltz and thought the story had a cool premise, but while it started off like a potential 8.5, it ended at a 5. It just kind of fizzled out and ended in unspectacular fashion. That said, I will watch through the entire series of movies (I believe there are four) and see where it goes. Hard finding good scary movies on Netflix now that I've already watched so many.

Dude, wat?? Reanimator was complete lulz. I've watched it like 3x in the past month lol. Still in my instant queue. Can't believe I've never seen it before.

Anyway...

Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels - 8/10
Good movie, but no Snatch, but still lots of great bits and a great cast. Hadn't seen it in quite some time.

Yeah, I just couldn't get into it, but I left it as incomplete because I'd like to try it with a few IPAs under my belt, as it looks like one of those kind of movies.

Art of Flight 9/10

Great snowboarding film. Beautifully shot, AMAZING open mountain action, great soundtrack and editing.

I'd give it a 10/10 but there isn't as much actual snowboarding as I'd like in a snowboarding movie. The weather actively worked against them in a number of sites so it really couldn't be helped.

If you like these sort of movies, I'd give it a good watch. Travis Rice is pretty much the man.

Chernobyl Diaries - 6/10

Serviceable horror movie. I consider this to be a better acted version of "The Hills Have Eyes," with a cooler setting. My knock on it is that in the whole movie, there might be two minutes of film time showing the antagonists and the cool stuff you look for in a scary movie all happens off camera. I suppose the budget was simply too low. Also, if you have any exposure to horror movies, you will be able to anticipate everything in this movie (I called probably six or seven token horror ploys before they happened). So why is it serviceable? Well, unlike most scary movies these days, they created characters that you aren't hoping to see die by the end of the first ten minutes.

The Call - 3/10: Decent movie that was completely ruined by one of the worst endings I have ever seen in a film.

Skyfall 9/10

Was definitely better the second time. I saw it in theaters, I got there late, it was packed even though it had been out months already, the volume was way too quiet, I was there with an ex who I was at the time getting back together with so my attention wasn't fully on the movie, and in the theater it just kinda "drug".
Watching it at home with the volume cranked and a few Shiners it was much better. I see now why people liked it so much and I do too. Needed more Bardem but w/e. Fiennes being the new M will more than make up for it in the future.

Zero Dark Thirty 7/10

This was a contender for Best Picture? Don't get me wrong, I think it was a well done movie, but Best Picture caliber? :idk:

I'm not a big fan of movies like this because they depress the fuck out of me so that might be coloring my outlook. It was good, I'm glad I watched it, but I think I'd heard so much hype about it that actually watching it was sort of "this is what everyone was going on about?"

Argo 9/10

WAAAAAY better movie than Zero Dark Thirty. Even though you knew how it ended, it actually built suspense. I'm very impressed by Ben Affleck as a director and he didn't distract as an actor in this movie either.

I thoroughly enjoyed it.
