Fucking good jazz, beautiful scenery, and legal recreational weed... :hmm:

What are rent/mortgage prices like up there?

They're pretty good unless comparing to the Midwest or something, although it's going up, lots and lots of people moving here recently.

Really the best place to live, I love it here. I couldn't see myself living anywhere else in the country, other than maybe a desolate part of the PNW

My wife and I have a retirement plan to own several modest 2 bedroom homes all over the country and own a RV and drive between them seasonally, and seasonally rent them out when we're not going to be using them. Los Angeles will be our main home to be close to our family. But I want our beach home near Miami, dessert home near Sedona, and mountain home near Denver. That's our life plan.

So I just heard this on Sirius XM for the first time and thought it was pretty cool. And that solo... Not Clapton's, but Marsalis:

We talk a lot about guitar players sounding "effortless," but no one sounds more effortless to me than Wynton. Gat damn he's a boss.

Here's another version of that song, which is technically blasphemy because it was put into 4/4, but you can't have hot Latinas dancing salsa and mambo to 5/4, so in this case it's acceptable.

Nice!

Had that slow N.O. jazz vibe.

Such sexy note choice. Also, you wanna hear a boss as version of Take 5:

These guys have the best Marshall/Strat tone of ALL TIME. I mean unbelievably good. This is some of the only instrumental guitar music I can listen to. And holy fuck is it tasty.

also, I know I've been digging in deep to the Latin Jazz stuff on this thread lately cause I've been training my ears and my mind and whatnot, but this shit right here is killer too.

And for the record, Tito Puente was an American born musician of Puerto Rican decent who studied at Julliard and served on a battleship in WWII in like 8 battles. :usa:

This is what happens when you cross genres like a boss, taking traditional Spanish flavors and putting a Caribbean twist on it. Dude, check out the fucking vibes solo on this bitch. Smooth, boss.

Dude, I just get mad when I hear "newer" ZZ Top songs because they're awesome but I turn on the radio and am forced to hear Lagrange. Or Legs.

Yup, I pretty much decided to go this route for the rest of my life

My hot Cuban wife has been a big influence on me musically and she didn't even try. She just taught me how to dance salsa and by hearing those tunes when we'd go out or at her family gatherings I got infected.

I've never played in any time signature other than 4/4 and all I can say is, I don't have any idea what time signature Tito is using!

I went Salsa dancing, with an old g/f a while back, at a bar on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
The bar area in front was empty and the tiny, back room had a band on a small stage and about 100 people crammed in, all dancing.
The amazing thing was that, everyone was dancing but, no one was bumping into each other!

I'm sure you've also played in 6/8 or 12/8. :thu:

Yeah I've been in one of those packed places where nobody bumps into each other too. And thank God my wife is hot enough to keep my eyes on her cause some dem bishes is amok in' hot.
