I kinda wonder if she doesn't have a bit of a crush on the director or something. Movie ends, I'm breathing a sigh of relief, she's going, "that was pretty good."
Me - "wat?"
"I liked it."

Murdoch wrote:No, no...it's nothing that simplistic. You're approaching it from a man's perspective, which is "I'll put up with a lot of shit for a nice ass and a great pair of tits". It's nothing like that. She KNOWS the movie sucked balls. Knows it to her core. The problem is that she suggested the movie, and doesn't want to, or can't, admit that she was wrong about it, even though she damn well KNOWS that she was wrong about it. Why do they do this? I don't know. But I guarantee this is what's going on here.

Pretty sure that's not exactly it. We've shut off movies she's suggested in the past for sucking huge dicks. Or she'l switch into sarcastibitch mode and start ripping it apart while it's playing. This one she was all in on from the word go. Hell, for two days before she was telling me about this book she read about the Noah story and it going into his kids and how it all came about and what happened after and how awesome the whole story is.
I will say she's semi-obsessed with the idea of being the last people on earth. Maybe that got her all twisted up?

Not that I'm aware of.
I need to ask her where she saw this interview. If it was the View forget about it. She loves anything those bitches babble about.

It's in my que at home. I had readied myself to ignore all the obvious signs of it being a complete suckfest and just try to enjoy it for what it is. Then I read NFA's review. So much for that haha

Fucking bravo.
I agree with everything you've said. Literally. Every word of it.

And that baby killer part is where I also hopped off the train. Up until that point I was accepting that I was in fantasy land, and the plot just kept getting worse.
Aronofsky has fantastical elements in his movies but they're always grounded in emotional reality. And the struggles are usually very easy to relate to. Not so in this.
And Aronofsky is an Atheist, which makes me wonder why he went in this direction. And since he made up or reworked things anyways, I would have preferred a stripped down version where a lot of fantastical elements were shucked in favor of gritty realism. For example, the Creator tells him a flood is coming, but instead of building some bullshit fantastical Ark, Noah builds a normal boat for him and his family, and some live stock to live on while they were floating out in the great beyond (or whatever the fuck you wanna call it).
I would have also liked to see more of a tribal element instead of SAVAGES BAD NOAH GOOD.

Yeah, Telephant, I honestly think the Noah story, as written in the bible, could have been more interesting. The gritty realism aspect could have been played out wonderfully. The trials of building a boat large enough to support even a smattering of livestock and your family during the floods could have been interesting in and of themselves. Not to mention that anyone who happened upon the construction site would likely think the dude a complete lunatic and not instantly think, "HOLY SHIT! BETTER STEAL SO I'M SAFE!"
And the months at sea. And attempting to restart life after. So many aspects of the story that were just ignored in order to shove in the Rock Lords and the baby killin' side-track and the Bag of Dicks King shit.

Evan almighty did a better job with the Noah story than Noah did

I still need to see Evan Almighty. It looked pretty horrendous too, but it seemed to have a touch of self-awareness about it.

Between Noah and Sharknado 2, I can't decide which I will watch first. Maybe I'll watch both in the same sitting; it will be like Sharknoah and my tears of pain will make me really feel like I am in the movies.

I'm a big Aronofsky fan and this whole conversation makes me very sad. (and no I haven't gotten around to seeing Noah yet, and yes I still do)

Agreed 100%. Evan Almighty is actually not quite as bad as I thought it was going to be. In fact, I'd say it was enjoyable.

So am I, which is why I went to the theatre to see it! I love all of his movies. This one is shit. I mean so bad you will be questioning whether Aronofsky actually directed it.

I'm not saying don't watch it, just prepare yourself for disappointment.

OK, they need to make a crossover of Noah and Shankado. That would make it somewhat acceptable.

I wrote this on the last page but I thought it was entertaining and pretty well done (and some real cool action scenes). There were definitely a couple plot holes here and there and some heavy handed social commentary but I tried to get into it and just enjoy it and it kept me pretty entertained. IMO it was definitely worth watching, if you already have it downloaded give it a shot.
Also one of the longest and most uncomfortable flights I've ever been on was a pretty funny venue to be watching that movie.

Speaking of Sharknado 2
1/10 as a movie
But it was awesome and shitty. The last 10-15 minutes of the movie were amazing. I could not believe what I was watching.

As good as, or better than the last fifteen minutes of the first one? Cause that'd be truly awe inspiring.

Tara Reid is really the most out of it, annoying actress of all time. Such a booze-addled idiot. I would really have love to see the cast in rehearsals and see how seriously they took their roles

I took a break from the PS4 when Amy got home, and Sharknado 2 was on. It was at the part with the dude from 90210 rolling around with Mark McGrath?!? And ya Mark's acting skills are about where you'd think they be.

Then dude from 90210 walked into a pizza joint and had a conversation with Biz Markie. So weird.

She is so wrecked looking on top of being terrible. It's so awesome.
