I am so proud of you feeling safe enough to come out! How did your wife and kids take the news?
The wife took it with a facial, the kids took it with "Dad, at least wait till we leave the room".
Was this during the Tim Cappello sax song?
Idk. All I saw was nipples, pecks, and load.

The Marky Mark reboot a bunch of years ago was terrible. Absolutely terrible.
Rise and Dawn are not reboots. They are prequels. An interesting look into how everything came to be. They are actually very well done. Rise has it's corny moments, but was still awesome. Dawn went with no corny moments. Pretty much just awesomeness form beginning to end. Dawn takes place 10 years after Rise.
I'm a movie snob too. I have no time for bullshit movies. I don't feel these 2 movies are bullshit.

These thoughts.
All the trailers look so much the same anymore its tough to differentiate what's going to be your average hollywood failfest and what's going to be a decent movie without watching the movie. And since they're all 2+ hours anymore....cannot be bothered.

But, at least I know if I am bored they are decent to watch.

I have not, but I have heard its actually good. Which again the trailers did not make it look so good.
I don't want it to be good because I don't want to watch TC in anything ever again.

It was better than the trailers made it look I thought. The first half of the movie was good. The second half, really meh.

About Time-7/10
'Owed the wife one' night again...this actually wasn't a bad film....English/British/Scottish so it was very droll and a little slow, but not the slowest English film I've seen and I was thankful for that.
Domhnall Gleeson (one of the Weasley brothers from the Harry Potter series) was really good and low key....I can see him being a very well respected/received actor in about 10-15 years despite his ginger-ness.
Rachel McAdams is cute and a decent actress, but really anyone could have filled this role and done just as well. Nothing groundbreaking.
This film does get major points for Bill Nighy.....the last scene with him hit me in the feels. ANY film gets major points for BN....from HGTTG to the fuckin lameness that is the Underworld series (that I've watched in entirety about 6 times).
"You must be JUDGED" gets screamed regularly in my house, for anything from dropping a glass to our daughter doing something bad as only a teenager can. No one else could have played Viktor in that series and made the role his own like BN did.
Watch if: your woman is on your ass for a love story movie...BN makes up for it.

^Great chick flick, period. Could have been a cliched POS but the performances and little twist in the storytelling did the trick.

Yeah, pretty much my reaction, too. Different enough to be worth watching, though. I think...
How to Train Your Dragon 2 7/10
Very surprised by this one. Much darker and heavier than I was expecting. Not quite Pixar quality but definitely better than 99% of films these days and about 90% of non-Pixar animated films.

Amy made me watch the first one and I ended up really enjoying it. I''ll wait till it leaks though.

i had high hopes for it. apollo 18 as well. same movie, basically.
better visuals of course in ER, though i loved the 60's aesthetic of A18.
in the end both just sort of fall apart though

The Purge 2/10- I thought the premise sounded moronic when I saw the previews. Unfortunately wifey got it from Netflix. It was every bit as dumb as I thought it'd be.
The premise is stupid. And ok, if the movie were entertaining, I could handle that, but its not entertaining, its just stupid.
Its like a bad horror movie in that nothing the characters do makes the slightest bit of sense. Except, unlike bad horror movies, its not Ifun or funny. its mostly just tedious with you wondering "How can they be so stupid?" or "WTF they design security systems and they didn't consider any of these issues?"
I gave it 2/10 because of the master troll job the filmmaker did in making this shitpile for a pittance and banking 20x the cost.

The Purge was awful mostly because they took a premise that COULD have been interesting, and turned it into every Hollywood love story bullshit tripe story we've seen in the last forty years and smashed a couple horror movie premises into it. Fuck that movie.
Wife's birthday Friday. She wants to go to Purge 2 opening day.

It could have! I mean, I found the premise pretty dumb, but it COULD have made for an entertaining movie.
Alas, it did not.
And seriously WTF is up with women? WTF IS UP WITH THEM!?!?!!?!

Warrior - negative 12/10. If you hadn't seen trailers for it you really wouldn't even get the premise of the movie. They sure as fuck don't bother going into the premise during the film. Honestly, it's like they cut all the scenes that were in the trailers about the relationship between the brothers and made a completely different movie. Utter shit. Would not again even if paid.
