Ip Man movies are definitely worth watching. I enjoyed them at least. Not sure how I would rate them. They're not masterpieces of film making but they're fun to watch. :idk:

yup. same with some of the kids movies. The first How to Train Your Dragon looked like unfinished garbage on the previews. It wasn't the sharpest finished product, but much better than the previews made it look.

So I know this is the movie thread but... I started watching 24 after some of you guys recommended it and I have to say, its the most ridiculous goddamn show ever. And yet I can't stop watching. :D Kiefer voices Snake in Metal Gear Solid now, which I happen to love. THhe prologue/demo that came out called Ground Zeroes is one of my favorite games of this new gen. After watching the first season it hit me that Baur = Snake and Snake = Baur. Baur infiltrating a base full of armed men with nothing but a silent pistol?!? Fucking awesome and exactly like Snake.

The James Franco one was actually pretty good. The CGI wasn't near as jarring as the previews made it out to be. Too many previews use unfinished CGI and leave people thinking it's gonna be a disaster.

I'm half tempted, half scared by the new one.

I didn't realize we were on # 3 at this point.

Ahh, I'll keep that in mind. Why do so many movies use shitty unfinished CGI in their trailers? It just makes me not want to see them. Of course, those movies often go on to gross hundreds of millions so it doesn't matter whether I did or not.

They want to release trailers, but haven't finished the CGI yet, as that tends to be the last step of the process. But heaven forbid a trailer come out that doesn't use every possible CGI extravaganza shot that will show up in the finished movie. So, shitty half-finished CGI.

Jack Bauer's about to have to choke a bitch.

And then his sensitive side wonders why his relationships don't work out for three seconds before he has to choke a bitch again.

shea you described 24 perfectly. this latest one-off season thats coming to a close is the worst/best in that regard too. they took the amount of shit that happened in an episode on average for all the og seasons, multiplied by 6.

he voices snake pliskin now!?!?! FUCK i need a damned console.....

Hobbit, Desolation of Smaug

Expected it to be terrible, but was very pleasantly surprised. Hugely better than the first one, nicely nails that 80's 90's fantasy adventure feel.

Well hey, if you don't want to watch a great movie because a satyrical website has an issue with reboots, then... coolio.
