I’m super happy the old Marshall gangsters came out of the woodwork. I like all the new amps and stuff but the hangdown on an old Marshall is big.

I’ve got two more amps I need in my life, a triple rec and a blackface bassman.

EndTime wrote:haha. Well, I suppose thanks. The room used to be worse before I did a one day makover last year.

I’ll be honest my old band jammed in one of the seediest spots in Chicago for 15 years. The old Zenith TV manufacturing building to be exact. Inside that building, there were no laws! Lol. The bands made up a very small portion of the occupants. Without exaggeration I guarantee people were murdered in there, Overdosed and died and the two guys who stayed IN the building and “watched” over the jam spots both died of cancer in their 50’s. This place was filled with asbestos, disease and other contaminates I’d probably prefer not to know. And it’s been condemned for 5 years now, and had a pretty raging fire last year. So you know, that place was housing plenty of homeless and other degenerates. While I didn’t LIVE there, I did spend 6-8 hours a week in there for 15 years and I’m quite certain some health issues may be attributed to my time there.

Anyway, that’s just a long way of saying making music in that environment sorta becomes a part of you and before the “makeover” of my room, it really did resemble the filth of that practice space. The problem was, this was in my house!! Lol. I much prefer it now. There might be a tangle of cables, tools and lyrics/notes, it’s really not TOO hard ore

That reminds me of the rehearsal spot one of my old bands had from roughly 1988 to 1993, but pretty tame in comparison to your situation.

We practiced in a house that was built in the 1930s, then converted into apartments and a storage unit in the basement. About 2/3 of the basement was set aside for storage and the other 1/3 was a sleeping room.

The guy in the sleeping room was named Paul but we referred to him as Frank in case he was listening in. Frank would often leave his door open so we would go in and snoop around. All he had was a twin bed with a pile of playboys on one side and a night stand on the other side, which had partially filled bottles of stale beer and an ash tray. On the floor were 2 liter bottles filled with piss. There was a hornet's nest in the wall and during the summer hornets would occasionally get into Franks apartment and go after the stale beer and piss.

Anyway, the drummer and I decided we were going to write a song about Frank, called In Frank's Basement. We never got around to writing the music, but we did come up with some lyrics and I remember some of them:

Hornets Nest
Stale Piss Dumped on Your Chest
Soiled Underwear Nailed to the Wall
Frank's Basement is Satan's Shopping Mall

In Franks's Basement....
You're Gay!
In Frank's Basement....
Every Day!

I think that's a wrap for submissions. However, forum time is current 6:36 AM. So 12:00 PST will be later today (Roughly 4pm Eastern Standard Time) At that point I'll lock threads and make polls. Everyone, thank you again for coming out and getting in on this. It's always a blast to celebrate our gear together. And thanks to those who really went out of their way to rally the troops. Y'all are the MVPs.

I posted a thing in the main forum to make everyone else aware. That’s why we also have the five day window. Yeah we’re all gonna vote ourselves but still. We like others to get in on the voting action.

Head/Cab is between Rubato and Lester right now. That 1959/Bogner cab setup is monstrous. But could the magic be in the Jubilee again? It worked for Pablo last year. Early to tell. Combo rig is close. Pablo, Neil and I are neck and neck so far. Thanks for the votes for my Tremoverb. She deserves some love.

Ha! You're not supposed to vote for rig with no amp and cab goodies, bro!

I voted for you because its the closest to my last bass rig, and I know it slays.

I don't know why screamingdaisy didn't enter that SVT / P combination, that's like the holy grail bass rig!
