Wow... haven't heard that name in a while... I used to like HIM back in the day. After Dark Light came out, I kind of lost interest. Might need to check back in on them...

Yeah this is a cool album. Like a cross between greatest love songs and Venus Doom and a touch of screamworks. Nice thick riffage.

That's actually a band called "Sea of Bones" playing at St.Vitus in NYC... They're a great band. The guitarist makes those cabs they're using too. Calls his company Mammoth Cabs.

Ok, that makes a TON more sense.
I really liked their sound, those cabs looked nice too. Some pretty nice amps up there. I noticed a couple oranges, a Sunn Beta something (bass I guess) and something else I couldn't make out.

Listening to Electric Wizard right now, if that counts

Yeah, try and see them live if you can. They're from CT but play surrounding states a bit as well. Tom (the guitarist) plays through 2 2x15 cabs with 2 4x12 cabs on top... The bass player uses 3 or 4 2x15 cabs.... LOTS OF AIR MOVING!
Just a heads up to anyone in New England. Windhand is playing in Providence tonight, with Elder and Morne opening up!!! Gonna be an awesome show. Itd be cool to meet some GABbers there!

Havent really gave them a proper listen yet. Theres so much stuff I still need to check out, but I'm doing it the old school way. Going to the record store and buying shit I've never listened to. Luckily, I've got an awesome record shop two towns over that always has some good shit.
My next purchase I'm looking forward to is a Yob album. I've purposely avoided listening to them on youtube, soundcloud etc... and really want to grab one of their albums.

Pretty cool approach man! I don't think you'll regret grabbing a Yob album. I've only dabbled in their stuff and it was good.

^ Yeah Pelican always seem to pop up on my radar and yet I haven't really listened to them that much. I like what I've heard, but like a lot of those types of bands I think I need to immerse myself a little more to truly get it.
Speaking of post-metal... the Isis/Chino Moreno project Palms drops later this month:
