Outrageous! Help me source neck binding, pls....

Post by long standing member »

went to Stew-Mac b/c I need to put some new binding on an acoustic neck.

The binding costs about $5, but there's a $37 hazmat fee!!!!!!!

So, I'm sure that Stewmac is just collecting for the govt, but how can I get around this?

OK, I found it on eBay from China, but I"m still pissed for $37 for a piece of inert plastic called hazmat!

thanks for the clues!
LMII has the same hazmat fee, and although I couldn't find binding/purfling/etc on the PLS site, I'm sure they're also going to have to charge the outrageous hazmat fee.

I'm going to shop in China
