Made a cab with wood from a trashed '63 Hammond M111

Post by Riffraff »

I got a completely trashed M111 some time ago that was headed to the dump and salvaged the amps, speakers, photoscanner and some other bits for future projects. It was under a tarp on someone's porch and was in really, really bad shape.

Image

I chopped what I could salvage which wasn't much from the wood and started making a cool little Hammond inspired 112 cab. This was all I could get out of it.

I made the rest up with some scraps I had laying around the shop last weekend and it came out kind of cool. It's a little less offensive to my wife than the 6505+ half stack that's currently in our mud room......not that I have another place to put that

I had a new Weber SIG12A laying around that's perfect for this box. :thu:

I plan to eventually convert the AO-44 reverb amp that came from the same organ and put it in it for a cool little all Hammond combo.

As far as aesthetics go it's a nice vintage look for these:

I put brass drawer pulls on the sides for handles. :thu:

Wow - very cool - will definitely look good with those antique amps. The Egnater, not so much
