Here's a really Heavy Metal/Stoner Rock original song, driven by a grueling maniacal guitar riff, urgent drum fills and swirling in feedback and twists. We tried blending Black Sabbath & Queens of the Stone Age with our own touch. Now theirs no vocals as we are currently looking for a singer, but it is an experimental rock song that I'd appreciate some feedback and constructive criticism on in its instrumental stage.
GEAR USED:
VOX AC30 w/ Blue Alnico Speakers Mexican Fender Strat BOSS BD-2 JH1 Wah-Wah and Fuzzface
Plus a standard drum kit and bass rig. We recorded every instrument 1 at a time with a single SM57 into a $99 Steinberg Interface. For those conditions, we think it turned out pretty good!
I like it for the most part, but I think the guitar needs to be a little bit gainier for the style, and the bass needs some balls. Interested to hear what you wind up doing with it!
I like it as is. In my unprofessional opinion I might experiment with adding some more aggressive (even splattery) fuzz at times. I don't think it "needs" that, mind you...just a thought as I was listening that there were a couple of times that a 'grainier' fuzz might sound kewlio.
Can't wait to here some vocals over this! Thanks for sharing

Thanks dude. It was a bit hard to get that bassy gainy tone with a VOX AC30, I had to roll off pretty much all the treble and crank the volume to about 50%. I've since improved my gear though, I am switching to a semi-hollowbody, VOX Night train and now have a sick Catalinbread SFT.

Thanks for the feedback dude. At a certain point I just recorded random fills and mix & matched them over the solo but if I had more time I would have probably used a more definitive fuzz tone.I use a JH1 Fuzzface
Man I dig this quite bait! The bass NEEDS to come up in the mix and does need bit more snarl. Outside of that though, I'd listen to a cd of this stuff no prob!
i know it seems easy to just grab some art and use it on the cover of something to lend legitimacy, but man, what a waste of a chance to add another element to a product by either using own art of sourcing something local or unique. not even getting into the legal and moral shit. though as long as its not being sold i guess

Hey thanks for the feedback fellas. And yeah I found the picture online, I think it's from a Walking Dead comic. When we release these songs properly (and legimitely finished) I will definitely do my own artwork
